**** MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** Good morning surfers and thanks for dropping in for some more Baliwaves. Well it’s a big day of prayer and offerings today here in Bali for the Balinese Hindu religion. Selamat Hari Raya Galungan dan Kuningan !!! I’ve already snuck down for a peak at todays surfing conditions on the Outer Reefs located 800yrds off-shore Tuban. At 6.30am there were some very nice 2-3ft+ waves peeling across Kuta Reef and there were a couple of dawn patrolers on it. Middle Reef was picking up slightly more size, in the 2-4ft range and will improve as the tide drops down to a 0.8mtr mid range Low. Airports diddn’t seem to be attracting as much swell as Kuta Reef, but still shaping up nicely in the 1-3ft range. The next High tide will be going down around 4.30pm this arvo @ 1.8mtrs. The wind was only just apparrant coming outta the WNW @ 1knot, so surfing conditions were clean and glassy, who know’s where she’ll be coming from in a couple more hours though ! Outside we got a beauty coming on weather wise, nothing but blue sky and sunshine. You know the type, perfect holiday weather. As soon as I get this stuff done I’ll be heading off to the Temple myself but if the wind hangs in there I’ll try and shoot ya’s something new to drool at. Mean time it’s the bodyboarders turn for a new Gallery load up, if your not into that take a look at some of the video clips they should keep ya smilling ! As you lot know we’ve been running a promo for a non profit organisation that help out Orphaned Balinese children from the poorest districts of Bali. Well I received some feed back from Carol Sasak (founder) yesterday thanking baliwaves and all the people who have been in contact with her wanting to help the children get some schooling and to be part of a normal family. Carol has also told me that while she has been out of office her PC dumped 100’s of emails, lost the lot. So if anyone has been trying to contact Carol PLEASE try again and you will get through to her. I’d like to thank the good people who have offered to help turn around the lives of these poor little kids, THANKS CREW !!!! While I’m at it Mr Tony Garcia who is the author of some great surfing related (fiction) books has donated a heap of his latest novels for me to give away to anyone who can take part in sponsoring a Balinese Orphan. These books are a good read (red em all) and relate to surfing around, Bali / G-Land / South America and a heap of other locations. So drop me a line and I’ll send ya some books ! You can also check Tony’s website for a look at his work at www.soldierboy.com If anyone out there has a good product that’s made for travelling surfers you should drop me an email and we’ll help ya target your market. This year we had a heap of drama’s with the running of baliwaves.com and we were still managing to attract 70,000 unique viewers per month and up ta 20,000 page views per day. I think we’ve got a good product ! So drop us a line. Now’s a good time to start organising your friends for your next indonesian surfing adventure in ’07.
MORE GOOD NEWS : I know it’s taken awhile for me to get this organised but that’s how it is, when it’s a one man show. Anyway for starters anyone who is prepared to help out with the Balinese Orphan Scholarship / Sponsorship Program . In other words turn around the life of a child with some basic education and putting them into a family environment. Please take a look at this website: www.ihfonline.org These people have been providing this kind of help to the less fortunate for a long time and have been doing a great job. If you are interested in being a part of this program but have some questions send an email to the founder of I.H.F; [email protected] and I’m sure Carol will be able to give you the answers. Thanks again crew !!
