**** MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** Bali:10-11th Dec. Hey good morning friends of Bali and I hope everyone has had a top weekend out there. Yesterday here in Bali wave height was pretty darn small and I reckon you woulda had to have been a micro grommet or a new arrival to have wanted to get amoungst it. Here in Tuban the Outer Reefs (Kuta Reef across to Airports) were only just breaking @ 1ft+. I covered quite a few kilometers in my travels yesterday and even down at Uluwatu wave height was only just pushing the chest to head high range. Green Balls over on the eastern side of the Peninsular was looking the best in my opinion, but once again only in the 2-3ft class like Uluwatu. There was bugger all wind yesterday morning, only light and variable before settling into the S-SW around 10.30-11.00am. Yeah I checked every surfing location yesterday, from Kuta Reef all the way around to Nusa Dua on the East Coast ! You see I’m part of a very big “Fishing group” around here and yesterday was our FIRST, BALI OPEN TROLLING COMPETITION. What I’ll try to do for you surfer/fisho’s that tune in is write up an article on the fishing page of baliwaves.com over the next day or two, as soon as I get hold of the photos that were taken. It was a fantastic day that went off without a hitch. A total of 25 traditional Balinese fishing boats were involved and yours truelly managed to finish in position No.7. Back to today and Bali’s current surfing conditons for the 11th of December. I never made it down for the surf recon until 7.00am (there was also a big big party after the fishing contest) and it was looking pretty crook on the Outer Reefs with barely half to one foot of swell breaking in between Kuta Reef and the Airport Reefs. The tide wasn’t helping either with a semi reef exposing 0.3mtr Low, just about at the bottom of it’s run out. Then we’re gunna have a 1.8mtr High hitting it’s peak around 2.00pm this afternoon. Weather conditions outside are not the best with light rain, and it’s still falling now @ 9.00am 🙁 There’s no wind about, so what waves there are availible are clean and glassy on both sides of the island. Me I’m moving to a new room today so I’m not gunna be getting much beach time in, I’ve also been without a phone line (internet access) for the last 5days… Ya should seen some of the bewilder’d looks I was getting the other morning as I was up-loading baliwaves.com from a small Balinese morning market type shop (warung). Hopefully when all the smoke clears from moving etc I’ll be able to get back into a much better envoironment for keeping you guys/girls up-to-date on Bali’s surf and weather scene ok. So bare with me for another day or two. By the way I did manage to get a couple of new video clips loaded up for ya’s. These clips don’t have music, cause I know ya’s all won’t like my limited taste, so crank up your own favourite stuff and enjoy the show !
GOOD NEWS : I know it’s taken awhile for me to get this organised but that’s how it is, when it’s a one man show.
