**** MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** Good morning crew, time for more Bali surf and weather information. Hmmm, well I finally got the boat in the water @ 1.30pm yestertay arfternoon and made tracks for the South Eastern end of the island. Passing by Uluwatu there looked to be around 20-25 surfers (maybe more) spread out along the reef with wave height in the 2-3ft+ range. Around the other side there wasn’t much happening at Nyang Nyangs but when I went past Green Balls there was about 7-8 surfers in the water surfing some nice shaped waves with 3-4ft backs and in my opinion the best wave on offer. But hey before ya’s all go rushing off to surf Greenies let me tell ya’s this. Being a Sport come big game fisherman (when the surfs down) I’ve never seen more sharks anywhere else cruising along the surface than at this area and not just little reefies I mean big Tigers. Just for the record dept: yesty I only took two fish, a 30lb GT and another dirty big Barracuda in 2.5hrs of trolling time. This mornings surf recon of the Outer Reefs was looking a bit better than the last few days and there were even a few head high waves rolling into Airport lefts, this was @ 6.45am. Likewise at Middle Reef which might even improve a touch more as the tide continues it’s run down for a 0.7mtr Low around 11.00am. Kuta Reef was on the loosing end of the swell direction and only attracting some 1-2 footers, better suited to the micro grom class of surfer. Surfing conditions are very clean and tidy out there this morning with the wind only just detectible coming outta the West @ half a knot. So if you were looking for some slightly bigger waves I’d be checking the locations from Uluwatu around to Nusa Dua, and for the crew with nothing else on Keramas up at Gianyar would also be cranking through the early AM hours. I’ve gotta hang around for awhile this morning as I’ve got someone coming around to buy my TV… I’m gunna miss her but times are tough all round for everyone over here in Bali at this time of the year. Then I’m gunna jump on the motor bike and cruise down to Uluwatu and see what’s happening along the Racetrack section on the Low tide, DV cam only (can’t carry the full load). I’d rather go fishing and catch some food but I know you lot need fresh images and video to stay satisfied ! So tune in later this evening or for the smart crew who have signed up for the free email alert just wait till ya’s get the email. So until later, have a good one and stay Happy.
