**** MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** Hello out there and thanks for droppin by for a look at Bali’s current surfing and weather conditions (7 days a week). I took my time getting down to the beach this morning and didn’t get my first surf recon done until 7.00am. But I can say that wave height has definitly picked up from yesterdays micro size. Actual wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport Left was in the 1-2ft range with the very occassional bigger set wave hitting Airport Left. Infact it was almost surfable !. The tide still has a fair way to run up before it peaks @ 1.7mtrs around 11.00am so we may even see a fraction more height added to the 1-2 footers, then again we may not (lets keep it honest hey). The next low tide will be a 0.7mtr mid ranger happening around 4.30pm this arvo. Wind direction was coming lightly outta the NW @ 1-3knot and will more than likely turn to the S-SSE later in the day, same as it has been doing over the last week, it is the season. When I get baliwaves upta date I’ll go and have another look at the surf and make the decision wether or not to go and shoot some photos / DV, or not. I am pretty darn keen I tell ya’s, but I know ya’s don’t wanna see images of dribbly little grovel type surf coming outta Bali, hell no. So in the mean time while we’re all waiting for some more Bali type waves take a look at these images from days gone by. Weather wise around this beautiful little island there’s nothing but blue sky and sunshine, repetitive ain’t it. So we should see the outside temperature soar into the early 30’s Celcius by midday, and the beach is always the best place to be. BAD NEWS DEPT: Last night my mobile phone passed away on me right in the middle of a conversation, I tried hard to bring her back to life, but she was just to old and not strong enough. She was a good 8 years old and had lots of friends constantly calling her. So until I can scrape up the funds for a new one I’m kinda uncommunikado, except for the old email system. Now here’s a tip for you surf travellers coming to Bali and wanna bring your own mobile phone: DO NOT activate your phone for international roaming it’ll cost ya an arm an a leg when ya get back home and get the bill. Simply buy an Indonesian SIM CARD when you arrive, they cost around 5 bucks and are so much cheaper to call home with. There’s even a new one out that offers International calls at Rp1,000 for every 30 seconds talk time, that’s around AU$0.24 cents a minute. Ok that’s it for now but don’t hesitate to email us if you’ve got any questions on how to make your holiday time run smoother. Especially if ya wanna experience LAKEY PEAK at cost price, it is the season !
GOOD NEWS: I know it’s taken awhile for me to get this organised but that’s how it is, when it’s a one man show. Anyway for starters anyone who is prepared to help out with the Balinese Orphan Scholarship / Sponsorship Program. In other words turn around the life of a child with some basic education and putting them into a family environment. Please take a look at this website: www.ihfonline.org These people have been providing this kind of help to the less fortunate for a long time and have been doing a great job. If you are interested in being a part of this program but have some questions send an email to the founder of I.H.F; [email protected] and I’m sure Carol will be able to give you the answers.
