**** MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** Hey howdy folks, welcome aboard and thanks for tunin into the one and only baliwaves surf and weather place. This morning I was up with the sparrows and waiting for the sky to lighten up enough for a visual on today’s surfing situation here in down town Tuban. At 5.45am I couldn’t make out any improvement in wave height from what we’ve had for what seems like an eternity now. What it is, it’s still only just breaking in the 1-1ft+ range in between Kuta Reef and Airport Reef… Wind direction first up was coming straight outta the WEST @ 0-1knot then around 6.30am had already swung further around to the WSW @ 2-4knot, making it even more untidy. On the tide scene, today being the 3rd day after the New Moon we have a dry and reef exposing 0.1mtr Low @ 6.00am, that will run back in for a 1.8mtr High around high noon. So yeah when that time comes around there aint gunna be much happening around Bali’s better know reef breaks. Probably the best bet for any gung-ho type surfers would be to check out locations from Nyang Nyang’s to Nusa Dua for maximum wave height and cleaner surfing conditions. My man on the scene over at LAKEY PEAK / SUMBAWA is being true to his word and has filed his report on surfing conditions from that area. (in Made’s words). Today at lakey Peak the wave is very small but clean early in morning. No windy, but tide is very low. No raining and weather is very clear blue sky. Your a legend Made ! While were still on the Lakey Peak scene I’ll give ya’s a very important tip on the place. If you wanna surf at Lakey Peak (t’is the season) make sure ya have a look at tidal conditions before ya go. You MUST have a High tide through the early to mid morning if ya wanna actually be able to surf. It’s just a tad dangerous when the tide is too low and ya got some swell on it. So ideally a one week stay in the area works the best having the High tide first thing in the morning and progressing daily, and then you’ll be a happy chappy. Just ta let ya’s know, I have personally experienced Lakey Peak through every month of the year. An infact I’m gunna be keen to get over there some time next month, let me know if ya wanna come along ! Ok serious shit dept: I was reading the Sydney morning trash newspaper on-line yesterday and checked out all the Travel warnings and negative stuff written about Bali. Yeah we all know there are terrorists in this farked up World, they’ve been here for a long long time and unfortunately they will be around for a long time to come. But don’t let the mungrels control your life, if you wanna come surf an hang out here in Bali then do it. Man, everyone know’s Sydney is one of the most racial and dangerous cities in the whole southern hemisphere. It’s a bit like the pot calling the kettle black, I reckon. Come over hang out at the beach and take it easy, just try to stay away from the crowds if you are concerned. Me myself I avoid the Kuta / Legian area at the best of times anyway. Ok friends of Bali you have a good one out there today and start getting ready for all that left over ham. Check ya’s later.
GOOD NEWS : I know it’s taken awhile for me to get this organised but that’s how it is, when it’s a one man show.
