**** AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE **** Hello again friends of Bali and thanks for taken the time to drop by. Well it was a shakey old start to the day this morning I tell ya’s, but I’ve made it this far anyway. When I went down for the early surf check (11.00am) it kinda looked like wave height had dropped off slightly but still there were some nice little waves peeling through on the Outer Reef here in Tuban. Kuta Reef had a couple of surfers on it catching waist high peelers and like wise down the other end of the reef @ Airport Left. The tide was starting to get full around midday so there wasn’t much happen’n on Middle Reef. But later in the afternoon I did see waves in the 2-4ft class smokin through on Middle’s, being better suited to the lower end of the tide scale. Earlier the wind was coming from the West but varying to the South at times, then sometime around 3.00pm she did another 180 degree turn and started coming outta the SSE-SE and off-shore from Uluwatu to Legian. An that’s where she’s still blowing from right now @ 5.15pm. I haven’t heard from any surfers in regards to surfing conditions at other locations (except from our man in the Lakey Peak area that is) Weather wise around this part of town it’s been murderously hot and humid, that is for anyone who had too much Chrissy Spirits last night. As I type this report we’ve just had some big black clouds roll across and she’s a raining, so relief is here. Correction dept: The other day a made a comment (my opinion) on Sydney being a very dangerous city. Well to tell ya’s the truth everytime I’ve HAD to go there I haven’t felt comfortable about being there. What I really meant to say was someting like this; how many Australians have been killed or murder’d in that city since 2002 ?
Ok on the LAKEY PEAK scene, made sent through his sms on surfing conditions and he rekons that wave height is still in the 2-3ft+ range on Lakey Peak and conditions were clean and smooth with bugger all wind on it. He also said that there were only two surfers out for the early due to the tide being too LOW. I also had a sms from the owner of the AMAN GATI HOTEL, Mr Gede Sudantha wanting to hook up to shoot the wind about something. So we might have some more material coming outta Lakai very soon, ya never know. Slackness dept: yeah I know I’ve been slack on the photos / DV scene lately but mind you I’ve had a lotta stuff to get through over the last week or three, and I’m just about back to normal again. Not to mention developing your NEW LOOK baliwaves.com website. Now I’ve just gotta make it through the silly season and we’re home safe ! Alright then that just about brings up to now, enjoy what ya got and stay cool and clean.
