**** AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE **** Good afternoon crew and thanks for taking the time to stop by the baliwaves this stormy old day in Bali. Yeah and I really mean it’s a stormy old day around the island of Bali. Wave height on the Outer Reefs of Tuban has taken a bit of a beating today but still in the 2-3ft range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left . Actually it’s a bit hard to discern between wind generated waves and actual ocean swell.Just for the record the wind has been howling outta the SSW upta 25-30knot at times and ugly. 5 of the Aussie surfers staying here at Home Base Bali made the effort to check out Nusa Dua to see if conditions were any better.. but not today folks. They did manage to get out there for a surf anyway and reckoned wave height was still a good 3-4ft+ but totally trashed from the on/cross-shore wind. There were a total of 8 surfers in the water including my newly arrived friends (Adrian Venturi and mates). Weather wise it’s been the worst day in my personal memory of 11 point something years for torrential rain and fierce wind here in Bali. Right now at 4.45pm the rain has finally let up enough for me to make a dash to the internet cafe that for some strange reason is managing to be able to get a connection… On the Lakey Peak scene over on the island of Sumbawa, east of Bali our man Made says wave height is also in the 2-3ft range and the wind is on-shore at Lakey’s. There were 6 surfers in the water at the time he sms’d me and a total of 20 surfers in the whole area. Ok now that the silly season has passed by hopefully we can get back to some early morning starts… Well as soon as this devil wind (SSW) takes a hike anyway. It’s still pretty congested around the Tuban / Kuta area with domestic traffic here on holidays, but that should settle down over the next few days or so. These new images I’ve loaded for ya’s are of course from better days gone by, just ta keep ya’s interested in what’s in stall for Bali ’07 Until tommorrow take it easy out there where eva ya might be and start organising your friends for the Bali experience !
