**** MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** Howdy crew and thanks for droppin in for some Bali waves and the run down on how it is around the island today. This morning’s surf recon of the Outer reefs here in Tuban was still showing wave height hanging in there @ 2-3ft, or head high for the new school. Actual surfing conditions were a bit lumpy an bumpy from the on-shore Westerly wind (4-8knot) but there were still some ridable waves out there. Kuta Reef was part peeling and part sectioning off in the 2-2ft+ range and there were 2 or 3 surfers on it catching some ok little waves. Middle Reef was slightly bigger in the 2-3ft range but with no surfers wanting any part of it. Airport Left was slightly smaller out of the big 3 and surprisingly there wasn’t a Japanese surfer in sight. The tide bottomed out around 9.00am’ish and will probably peak around mid afternoon (Don’t worry Troy is working on the baliwaves tide charts and they’ll be on-line very shortly). It’s a top day coming on weather wise with plenty of blue sky, warm to hot temperature and not to mention the high humidity (make sure ya got a good deodorant). Made’s back with with us today and has sent the Lakey Peak surf info (via sms) for today. “small and bumpy surfing conditions on Lakey Peak this morning with around 1-1ft+ of wave height coming outta the WSW.” “Wind direction is blowing on-shore outta the SW @ 2-5knot.” “No surfers in the water this morning on the Peak and the total number of International surfers staying in the area has risen to a massive 22.” If ya wanna know who Made is just flick through the video clips until ya spot the “interview with a lakey Peak surfer” I’m gunna head back across to the east coast today and try (again) to shoot ya’s some fresh material. This time I’m dragging Kyle M. (Newcastle / Australia) with me to make sure there’s someone out there who can do the do. Still on the local scene dept: yesterday I received an email from Mr.Hamish of Quicksilver Indonesia who is currently over in Australia touring with the local Quicky Indo Grommet team to do some serious competing. hamish is going to be feeding us with live up-dates and images from the event so stay tuned for that ! Alright folks make the most of what eva ya got on today and call around later tonight for the full run down and hopefully some new images and video clips, an why not, it’s all for free !
