**** MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** Good morning crew, welcome aboard the baliwaves for another look at todays surfing and weather conditions around Bali. Well I ended up getting some feed back from some surfers who ventured over to the East Coast yesterday. KL made the trip up to Keramas at Gianyar but reckoned it was pretty ordinary while he was out surfing. Wave height in the shoulder to head high plus range but slightly wind affected from the SSW cross-shore breeze, but he said the good thing about it was that there were bugger all surfers out there. The rest of the crew staying at Home Base here in Tuban paddled out at Serangan for some 2-4 footers and a medium level crowd in off/cross-shore wind. Slim, he settled for a few punchy little left and right shore breaks at a little known spot here in Tuban with a couple of my local mates Uki & Reung. I also finally got contact from Made over at Lakey Peak on Sumbawa . He sounded pretty pissed off that wave height was still only just in the 1-2 foot range on “The Peak” with on-shore wind outta the West kicking in from first light. You see at this time of the year at Lakey’s you really only get the opportunity for clean surfing conditions through the early to mid AM. Ok this morning the 12th and it’s great weather outside, yeah great weather if you were a duck ! I made a dash down for a look at the Outer Reefs (between the rain) @ 6.30am and wave height has dropped off slightly from yesterday. Kuta Reef was only showing around 1-2 foot at best and no one in the water. Middle Reef was only just faring slightly better @ 2-2.5ft and Airport Left was also in the 2-2.5ft range and probably looking the most surfable outta the big 3 here in Tuban. The tide was around the middle of the run out so surfing conditions won’t be improving any out there. The wind was coming outta the WNW @ 4-7knot and on-shore and ya can count on it to swing further around to the WSW-SSW by midday. The East coast will be the best option for waves and bigger size again today, with the cleanest surfing conditions through until around mid morning. Me I’m gunna wait it out until tomorrow as we should see some new swell hitting the reefs anytime in the next 24hrs. So make sure ya tune in over the weekend, you an me both know that the internet never sleeps ! Like I mentioned it was raining through the early AM here in Tuban and still is now @ 8.30am. But there’s a big chance we’ll be back in the sunshine with more hot and humid weather by lunchtime. Have a good one what eva ya got on today, and don’t forget to keep that smile on ya dile !
