**** MIDDAY SURF UP-DATE **** Good afternoon surfers and thanks for stoppin by the baliwaves again today. Well it was a whole new ball game around this part of the island this morning. I went down for my first surf recon of the Outer Reefs around 6.30am and was pretty stoked to see some nice and clean waves coming through on Middle Reef in the 2-3ft+ range (no one out surfing em though). There was bugger all wind so surfing conditions were clean and smooth. Kuta Reef and Airports were also breaking but slightly smaller in the 2-2ft+ range. I reckon Uluwatu woulda had a few good ones as well. The crew from Home Base went back up to Keramas over on the eastern side of the island and reckoned they scored. Wave height up at Keramas was a solid 3-4ft+, with plenty of tubes peeling off. They were on the spot at 6.00am and surfed it to emselves for a good hour before the next crew arrived. Outside right now here in Bali @ 1.00pm the wind has increased in strength into the 3-6knot class coming outta the WSW. The temperature would have to be around 33 degree’s Celcius with nothing but blue sky upstairs. Made’s sms surf report from Lakey Peak isn’t sounding too good with only 2-2ft+ of wave height out on the Peak and the wind was already on-shore outta the WSW @ 8.00am. There were 2 surfers out there making the most of it though and the total number of International surfers dropping down to an all time low of 7 in the whole area, and maybe even the whole of Sumbawa for that matter. So as soon as the next swell arrives Lakey Peak would be the place to be, and if any of ya’s wanna know how to go about getting over there just drop me a line and I’ll help get ya’s there at cost price (return airfares / return transfers from Bima airport to Lakey Peak and a discount at the Aman Gati Hotel). Alrighty that’s about us for now I’ve gotta get that video clip from Keramas done for ya’s, I got slightly side tracked yesterday afternoon by some very cold Bintang beer. Have a good one what ever’s going on and hopefully we’ll see’s over here on your next Bali surfing adventure in 2007.
