**** MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** Howdy folks and welcome back to the baliwaves.com, Bali’s highest viewed surf and weather website ! These current photos were shot over on the East coast of Bali yesterday by one of the crew staying with us at Home Base Bali, good onya Jayo and his sisters digital instamatic camera. More perfection was peeling off at Keramas and the boys surfed it to emselves for at least an hour before anyone else showed up. Yeah that’s right, if ya can’t find an un-crowded wave in Bali your just not in the know or maybe just not trying ! This morning and we’ve got more excellent surfing conditions happening on both sides of the island. There was absolutely no wind at all present when I took my first look at the Ocean around 5.45am (it’s actually light enough to hit the water around 5.30am at this time of the year). Not much swell hitting the Outer Reefs this morning, wave height has dropped off a touch into the 1-2ft range and only Middle Reef was showing anything ridable. The tide was still to Low for Kuta Reef and Airport Left/Right but Uluwatu woulda had a few screamers running down the Racetrack section for sure. I couldn’t get any wheels this morning otherwise I woulda been down there, but tomorrows a different story and that’s where I’ll be heading for the early. Today the best option for a surf would have ta be back up at Keramas (if ya know how to get there..) and with the tide starting to push back in right now at 7.30am it’d be going off. Or you could also find some similar size happening at Nusa Dua down on the southern end of Bali. Serangan would have a few smallies and the heaviest surfer population. Slim’s gunna have to settle for a few beach breaks with the local grommets when the tide gets a bit higher. Outside weather wise it’s been pissin down all morning but has taken a break for now and should commence to clear up by midday for more hot and humid tropical type conditions. The water temperature is absolutely perfect @ 24 degree’s Celcius, and that’s how it should be. Looking at the available swell and synoptic charts and their showing that we can expect to see another slight increase to wave height starting tomorrow and lasting through till Tuesday before backing off. Then maybe another smaller pulse around Thursday / Friday. Exchanging your dollars to Rupiah on the streets of Bali dept; — 1US$=Rp9,075 — 1AU$=Rp7,100 –1NZ$=Rp6,295 — 1UK$=Rp17,100. We’re also getting very close to the unveiling of the NEW LOOK baliwaves.com to be released and we’ll have a few surprises for ya’s when we do, so stay tuned for a big one in 2007.
