**** MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** Hey good morning crew and welcome back to Bali’s Numero Uno surf and weather report website (not too mention all the other stuff we got !!!). Ok so this morning as usual I was actually down at the beach looking at surfing conditions on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban @ 6.30am. Wave height has taken a kicking today and fallen back into the 1-2+ range in between Kuta Reef and Airport Left . There were still a few ok little chest to head high freakies coming through on Middle Reef but not a lot happening on Kuta Reef or down on Airports. The tide was way out and there was a lotta exposed reef (by the way we almost got our tide charts for ’07 ready for ya’s) so Middle’s is the only surfable section of reef out on the big 3. Kuta Reef and Airports were only breaking in the 1-1ft+ class. Uluwatu woulda been pushing the head high range as well, down along the Racetrack section and there might even be the odd bigger waves hitting the Main Peak around mid morning if the wind stays calm’ish. Earlier there was F.A. wind so conditions were super clean and glassy. but it will turn more to the WSW and then SSW as the day progresses, probably peaking around 5-7knot. I’d reckon over on the East coast of the island you’d be better off checking locations like Nyang Nyangs, Green Balls and Nusa Dua to find the biggest size and less crowd. Or if you like surfing with an army try out Serangan . Outside right now @ 8.35AM we’ve got a mainly cloudly and overcast start, no rain has fallen through the night (around the Tuban area anyway) and you can count on the temperature to be hot and humid by midday. Our water temperature is absolutely perfect for a swim or surf @ 24 degree’s Celcius, so what are ya waiting for. Made has already sent his SMS surf report in from over at Lakey Peak on the island of Sumbawa and says; wave height is hanging in there @ 2-3 feet out on the perfect left and right Lakey Peak right dab smack infront of the Aman Gati Hotel. But there’s no one surfing due to the extremely dry and reef exposing low tide. No wind happening over there this morning so conditions are ultra clean. Like I’ve been telling ya’s, make sure ya check the tidal info before booking a trip to “Lakeys”, or drop Slim an email and he’ll fill ya in on that kinda stuff (and save ya’s some bucks in the process). Total number of guests staying at the Aman Gati Hotel is at an incredible low of 4. Looking at the swell charts and we may be in for a little boost in wave height tomorrow, so I’ll be all over it with the camera equipment getting ya’s some more surfing eye candy. Don’t forget to have a flick through the VIDEO section for the 3 NEW VIDEO CLIPS that I loaded up last night (Uluwatu #’s 1, 2, 3, 21st Jan ’07). Also if ya wanna see how the grommets from Quicksilver Indonesia are doing on the contest scene in Australia just hit the hot link. If any of ya’s are looking for a private type Bungalow / Villa in the Kuta area take a look in the SURFING DIRECTORY of baliwaves (at an incredible price) and ya might just find what yar looking for (and not in friggen US dollars either). Ok friends of Bali have a good one what eva ya got happening and don’t forget to try and get a bit of work done. See ya’s over here in Bali this year, cause it’s your SHOUT on the BINTANGS (beer) !!!
