**** MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** Good morning folks and thanks for droppin in for the run down on Bali’s surf and weather conditions. Well we got another pearler of a day coming on outside, nothin but clear blue sky here in Tuban . This mornings optical surf check of the Outer Reefs was better than what I expected and there were still some ultra clean and glassy little waves breaking out on Middle Reef in the waist to shoulder high plus range. Jamie, Scruffy, Tim and Jules from home base were already in the water enjoying the empty line-up all to emselves. The tide is set for a 0.5mtr Low water mark around 9.00-9.30am so it was still too shallow for any viable waves on Kuta Reef or Airports . But I’m sure there woulda also been some waves happening down at Uluwatu and possibly some waist to shoulder action in the Canggu area. As the tide runs back in for 2.2mtr High around mid afternoon there’ll be plenty of fun waves to choose from along the Kuta to Legian strip of beach breaks . What wind there was earlier was coming lightly outta the NNW and that would be making for even cleaner surfing conditions over on the East Coast at locations like Nyang Nyang’s, Nusa Dua and Green Ball’s . Speaking of Green Ball’s I’ve been told it was given that name because of back in the early days (mid to late 70’s) the fishermen used to use those old “green glass ball” type floats for their fishing nets out behind the waves. Actually yesterday I was informed by my mate Bazza from W.A that there were infact some ok little peaky waves at Greeny’s on the mid tide run-up. Made from over at Lakey Peak on the ever popular island of Sumbawa has filed his surf report with us for this morning and says; small waves in the 1-2ft class out on the peak @ 7.30am. Swell direction coming outta the SW and wind direction coming lightly outta the SW and on-shore, no surfers in the water. Total number of International guests staying the area has risen to a whopping 18, so let me know if anyone wants to know how to get across to lakey’s this year. Right now @ 9.45am the outside temperature is starting to heat right up and the mercury would have to be getting towards the top end of the 20’s on the Celcius scale. Hamish, our friend from QUICKSILVER INDONESIA has also filed another up-date on how the Quicksilver Indo Grommet Team are getting on “down under” in Australia and if ya wana check it out hit the high lighted link. (hey Hamish I’m a size 34 waist and size L… heh heh heh) Oh Yeah and I almost forgot dept: A Very Happy “Australia Day” to everyone Down Under !!!! On the dollar changing scene out on the streets dept: –1AU$=Rp7,075– 1US$=Rp9,065– and I’m not too sure about the others. Ok that’s about us for this morning Slim’s palnning to go for a few beachies with one of my Russian “komrads” named Seva. So have a good one what eva ya got on and Slims tip for today is, “be good to ya Mum” Catch ya’s later !
