**** MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** Howdy folks and welcome aboard the Bali surf and weather report machine. Yesterday I ended up hitching a ride across to Serangan over on Bali’s East coast (current photos / frame grabs).I never made it there until around 2.30pm, and the tide was starting to run out. Wave height on the main surfing area was averaging in the 3-5ft range but every now and then a few 6-6ft+ freakies would come through and clean everyone up. It wasn’t too bad really but not top quality considering the wind was off/cross-shore coming outta the WSW @ 6-10knot. Crowd levels were pretty tame with only around 35 surfers scattered across the zone. Yeah these current images are only “frame grabs” from the 7 minutes of DV footage I was lucky enough to shoot. So hang in there for another hour or so and ya can check the VIODEO CLIPS and see for yourself exactly what it was like. This morning here in Bali it looks like we’re returning to more stable type weather @ 6.00am we had blue sky and more importantly no howling on-shore wind. Actual surfing conditions on the Outer Reefs of Tuban we’re looking clean and tidy with wave height still in the 3-4ft range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left . The tide was still pretty low so Middle Reef was the better of the big 3. No surfers in the water this morning. Right now @ 9.00am the wind has increased in strength coming outta the WNW @ 4-8knot and the tide is running up. Needless to say that the east coast will once again be the place to go wave hunting, and there’s not gunna be any shortage of swell ! Made’s sms surf report from LAKEY PEAK on the island of Sumbawa reads pretty good this morning. Wave height on the “Peak” is coming through at 3-4ft+ on a 15 second period coming outta the SW. There’s hardly any wind and surfing conditions are clean and smooth for the 12 surfers that were in the water @ 8.00am, total number of International guests staying in the area stands at 28. An I suppose I better give a SPECIAL HELLO to all my friends in the Hu’hu / Lakai area and especially to all the staff at the AMAN GATI HOTEL. That’s about it from me this morning I’ll try and get back to ya’s this afternoon with more surf and weather info cause the boys staying at “Home Base” Bali are already out on the wave hunt. have a good one what eva ya got happening today, and make sure your ready for BALI in ’07 !
