**** MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** Howdy surf rats and thanks for droppin in for another dose of Bali surf and weather medicine. Hmmm, well I think I told ya’s yesterday that we should be seeing a new swell hitting the reefs and so far so good. At 6.45am when I was down at the beach doing the surf recon of the Outer Reefs wave height was indeed smokin through in the 2-5ft range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left . The tide was just off the bottom of a small range High and starting to run back out, so I’d expect we’ll see the Low happening just after lunch time. Kuta Reef wasn’t doing too much first up only breaking in the 1-2ft+ range but should improve as the swell continues to build through out the day. Middle Reef on the other hand was smokin in the 3-5ft range (freak sets @ double head high) and will also improve as the tide runs out. Airport Left was still breaking nicely but sedately in the 2-3ft range. The wind was coming outta the N-NE but hopefully we’ll see more East in it before this days surfing is over. I’m planning on travelling South down to my favourite location namely Uluwatu as the tide gets closer to the Low. But it’s all depending on what the wind is gunna do, or not do. Devis , my friend and Team rider for Quicksilver Indonesia is providing the wheels and I’m pretty sure he wants to show you what he can do out in the waves. I tell ya’s it’s been really good to feel that ESE off-shore wind here along Bali’s West coast for the last 3 days and hopefully it’s an indicator of an early season change, hopefully. Outside weather wise this morning it’s a beauty, nothing but clear blue sky with the only cloud in sight is way out on the horizon. Another 30 degree plus Celcius day is coming our way while the water temp is perfect for swimming and surfing @ 24 degree’s Celcius. Ok that’s about all I got time for this morning as I gotta check my camera gear, but call by later this evening for the full run down on surfing conditions, exactly how it was in Bali today. Not too mention the photos and video clips that I’ll be throwing in ya faces.
