**** MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** Good morning friends of Bali and thanks for spending some time on the baliwaves 7/7 day surf and weather (photos, videos, etc etc etc) info website . Just ta bring ya’s up-ta-date on yesterdays action down at Uluwatu first ok. These current images are cut from the Digital Video I was shooting and I’m gunna be making the actual video clips as soon as I get this surf report stuff taken care of. We arrived down at Uluwatu yesterday just as the tide was reaching the bottom of a mid range Low, wave height was coming through in the 3-5ft class (double over head) along with the occassional bigger one on the Main Peak . The waves were good and so was the quality of surfing while we were on the scene. I have to admit the stand out surfer was Devis Ratif who rides for Quicksilver Indonesia and you’ll be able to see for yourselves when I load the video clips. Clean surfing conditions even though the wind was coming outta the SSE upta 7knot. Today the 15th and I never made it down to check the surf until 8.30am (thanks to a few of my Balinese mates last night…) but I tell ya surfing conditions on the Outer Reef s here in Tuban are smokin !!! Wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport Right is comin in @ 3-5ft with the wind coming outta the NNE @ 2-5knot. The tide was just going past the top of the High and surfing conditions were clean and smooth. Kuta Reef was lining up @ 2-4ft and peeeeling off for a good 100yrds and for sure was the best of the big 3. Middle Reef was pulling 3-5 footers and will improve as the tide drops away after lunch. Airport Left was looking short but sweet @ 2-3ft+ and I’m sure there woulda been a few surfers slying around the other side of the airport runway for some Airport Rights . I’ve got surf anxiety bad… but I’ll have to wait until later this afternoon before I can get in the line-up on Kuta Reef . You’d have to go as far as saying that every location here on Bali’s West Coast would be cranking out pure fun today and there’s gunna be a lotta surfed out crew come sun down. Made has also filed his sms surf report from Lakey Peak on the island of Sumbawa and was pretty happy with the 3-4 footers that are peeling off perfectly both left and right on the Peak this morning. There was no wind at all at the time so surfing conditions were silky smooth for the 8 surfers in the water at lakey’s. The total number of International sufers visiting the area has risen to 45. Just to let ya’s know a little about the Lakey area dept: For starters the poor old hotel owner’s over there don’t have one website on-line between them. There are only booking agents who own the actual sites for the lakey area. There are something like 6-8 hotels available in the area with price’s starting at AU$7.00 up to AU$25.00 per night for a single room. Flights are easily booked from here in Bali flying with Merpati airlines and they except surfboards of all shapes and sizes at no extra cost. Once you hit Bima airport on Sumbawa you then need transport for the 2hr drive to Lakey’s. If you want more info you can check out the Lakey Peak info page right here on the baliwaves menu link, or simple drop us an email. We can help get anyone across to Lakey’s at cost price, why ? because I’ve got a lot of good friends (locals) over there and I like to see them working. For that they need you over there ! Weather wise around tubin Tuban today we’ve got more blue sky and sweet sunshine for everyone with the temperature already sitting on 27 degree’s Celcius @ 10.00am (current time) and should go into the early 30’s by midday. If ya wanna see what the local Quicksilver Indonesia Team Grommet boys have been upto “down under” check out the “stories” section on baliwaves.com. If your interested in renting a private bungalow in the Kuta area this year check out the baliwaves “buisiness directory” Or if ya just want some general Bali surfing info or say G’day to Slim then drop us an email !
