**** MID-DAY SURF UP-DATE **** Hi crew and thanks for hanging around the baliwaves.com for the complete 7/7 surf and weather stuff direct from your No.1 holiday destination of Bali. Well as planned yesterday Fat Baz was honking his horn out the front at 6.00am and after loading the boards and camera gear we made tracks straight for Keramas over on Bali’s East coast . We hit the black sand around 6.45am and were pretty happy to see 2-4ft of very clean looking right handers being fanned by a light Westerly off-shore breeze. There were already 6 other surfers in the water so while I set up Baz hit the line-up. These latest images are frame grabs from the 10 minutes of DV I shot, you’ll probably have to wait till tomorrow morning to see the actuall video clips. Surfing conditions remained pristine up until 9.30am when the wind started to swing around the SW taking the gloss outta the waves. Around that time the crowd also arrived so we packed up and headed South for Serangan to see what was going down there. By 10.00am Serangan wasn’t looking too good at all. Wave height was lucky to be in the 2-3ft range and maybe the odd bigger freaky, but we didn’t see any in the 20 mins we watched it for. Something like 80 surfers were spread over 3 sections and the waves were pretty fat and full. Baz opted to head back to the pool area of the Kartika Plaza Hotel (to perve on some newly arrived Russian ladies) and Slim settled for the PC and surf report etc etc…. Made has also filed his Lakey Peak sms surf report from the island of Sumbawa and says; wave height has dropped off a touch today but we still have some very clean 2-3 footers (head high) and no wind @ 7.00am. There were 18 surfers in the water on Lakey Peak and another 6 tube riders over on Lakey Pipe. The total number of International surfers in the entire lakey area has jumped to 34. Just for the record if ya wanna try the Lakey Peak experience there are all different priced hotels available in the area from budget to top shelf. Ann all of em are located right infront of the main surfing arena, drop us a line for more info. So outside right now @ 2.15pm we’ve still got tonne’s of blue sky, like it’s been all day and the temperature would still have to be sitting around 31 degree’s Celcius. We’ve also got the Full Moon happening today here in Bali so it’s Temple time tonight and we will be seeing some big tide ranges coming up over the next 3 days. Ok that’s about Slim for this Saturday afternoon but ya can come back tomorrow for the video clips of Keramas and to see what’s happening surf and weather wise around Bali.
