**** MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** Good morning surfers and thanks for dropping by your baliwaves.com 7/7 daily surf report station ! Well I tell ya’s, it was damn good to get back out at Kuta Reef again yesterday, first session since last year. I never made it out there until 1.00pm as the tide was starting to drop (I had ta paddle the 700yrds as well). Wave height was pumping through in the 3-4ft+ range almost getting up to double head high on the freakies and peeeeeeeeling off for a 100yrds. The wind had totally backed off and was only just coming outta the West @ 2-3knot. At first there were only a handfull of surfers on it but after an hour or so the word musta got out and the crowd picked up to around 20. Anyway it was bloody good to get some backhand going again. This morning when I went down for the 6.30am surf recon of the Outer Reefs (Tuban) wave height has backed off slightly but still plenty of meat out there between Kuta Reef and Airports . For starters the wind is coming pretty freshly outta the W-WNW @ 4-8knot and on-shore, but hopefully same like it did yesterday may just back off as the tide starts to run back in for the 2.2mtr High scheduled in for between 12.00 – 1.00pm. If it does, well, I’m not saying where I’m gunna be surfing at… Kuta Reef as still pulling waves upta 3ft+ on the morning reef exposing Low tide. Middle Reef was doing slightly better @ 2-4ft and Airport Left had 1-3ft waves, no one out surfing through the AM. Over on the East Coast , well I don’t really care to tell ya’s the truth, not when there’s the chance of surfing here on he West (best) coast of Bali. No but seriously, there would be plenty of surf over there this morning at most locations with the wind more clean and off-shore. Anywhere from Nusa Dua for the bigger size, Serangan for the softer wave, and all the way upto Keramas for the more perfect waves. Made has filed his Lakey Peak sms surf report from the island of Sumbawa and says; wave height has increased today (re: Slims prediction yesterday) up into the 2-4ft range on Lakey Peak . No wind happening @ 7.00am so surfing conditions were clean and glass like. There were 6 surfers braving the low tide on the “Peak” and he’s sure that when the tide runs in some there’ll be a more crew out there getting shacked. The total number of surfers staying in the Lakey area has increased slightly to 36. Weather wise around this part of Bai this morning there is still some cloud hanging about from last nights rain, but it’s up high and thinning out. Ann like yesterday we can expect another hot one (I’m sun burned from it..) with the temperature around 30 degree’s Celcius by midday. Yesterdays water temp woulda had to have been around 24-25 degree’s Celcius and way to good for a wet suit of any type or thickness. Also bringing ya’s upta date a bit dept; right now is full swill Japanese season, and I mean full swing for at least another month or two. So expect solid crowds at any of the better known smaller wave locations and at the Sushi bars. On the dollar changing scene around the streets of Bali: –1AU$=Rp6,950 — 1US$=Rp9,000 — I’m not sure about the Yen.
