**** MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** G’day folks and welcome back for another round of baliwaves surf and weather info. Well yesterday the wind never co-operated at all and by 11.00am was stil gusting outta the W-SW @ 5-10knot. I did talk to a few of the boys from “Home Base Bali” who ventured over to Serangan and they reckoned it was pretty fat and full through the afternoon High tide but still tempting enough for a paddle (they got more waves than what I did anyway…). This morning when I went down to the beach for an eyeball wave height was still showing in the 2-4ft+ range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left but the wind was fresh coming outta the W-WNW @ 4-7knot and on-shore. The tide was just hitting the bottom of a 0.1mtr Low @ 7.00am and is then gunna be rushing back in for a solid 2.4mtr High scheduled in for 1.00pm. So the best surfing conditions will be had over on the East Coast of Bali between 8.00 and 10.00am this morning. You’ll be able to find clean off-shore wind and waves upta 5ft+ between Nusa Dua all the way up to Keramas . But that big High tide is going to be fattening up the action around midday. I’m gunna be riding my motor bike over to Serangan around 10.00am to try and shoot ya’s a couple more video clips so ya can see for yourselves exactly how it is. I tell ya’s what though, it won’t be long before the surfing focus swings back here on the West Coast ann I can’t wait to get back down to Uluwatu with the camera gear (an boards). Outside weather conditions right now @ 9.00am are a still a bit cloudy for starters but hey this is Bali and ya can always count on it coming out hot and sunny by midday. Made has filed his sms surf report from lakey Peak on the island of Sumbawa and at 7.00am there was still 2-3ft of clean and glassy waves breaking on Lakey Peak and 6 surfers out braving the Low tide. The total number of International surfers staying in the area has risen slightly to 36 with the Aman Gati Hotel claiming 16 of em. Just to let ya’s know a little about the Lakey area dept : For starters the poor old hotel owner’s over there don’t have one website on-line between them. There are only booking agents who own the actual sites for the lakey area. There are something like 6-8 hotels available in the area with price’s starting at AU$7.00 up to AU$25.00 per night for a single room. Flights are easily booked from here in Bali flying with Merpati airlines and they except surfboards of all shapes and sizes at no extra cost. Once you hit Bima airport on Sumbawa you then need transport (available at the airport) for the 2hr drive to Lakey’s. If you want more info you can check out the Lakey Peak info page right here on the baliwaves menu link, or simple drop us an email. We can help get anyone across to Lakey’s at cost price, why ? because I’ve got a lot of good friends (locals) over there and I like to see them working. For that they need you over there ! On the dollar changing scene around the streets of Bali: –1AU$=Rp6,950 — 1US$=Rp9,000 –.
