**** MORNING SURF UP-DATE ****And a very good morning to the surfing community that’s tuning into the baliwaves.com today ! Yesterday as ya’s can see, I was out with the 600mm lens but it was pretty frustrating. The morning started off with lightish WNW wind but by 9.30 was cranking straight outta the North @ 10-12knot, and at that stage I was already in transit over to the East Coast to check out the black sanded beach breaks of “LJ’s”. That’s where I shot these current photos. There were only 4 surfers in the water and surfing conditions were pretty testy in the 2-4 footers. Then sometime around 5.00pm the wind did another switcheroo and swung around to the ESE and back to off-shore along Bali’s West Coast. This mornings 7.30am surf check of the Outer Reefs was sadly showing a drop in size with wave height down to 1-2ft between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. Airport Left was probably looking the best of the big 3 and there were something like 5 surfers already in the water. Both Kuta and Middle Reefs had empty line-ups. The wind was only light coming outta the WSW @ 1-2knot so surfing conditions were pretty clean still. Uluwatu would have to have had a few 2-4 footers breaking down there for the early risers and of course there’d be more cleaner conditions back over on the East Coast anywhere between Nyang Nyang’s and Keramas. A Low Tide of 1.0mtrs happened at 9.00am and is now on the way up for a 2.00mtr High water line around 3.00pm. Weather wise in the Kuta area we had some hard rain through the night and into the dawn, now at 9.45am it’s still mainly overcast with sunny patches. Made’s sms surf report from Lakey Peak on the island of Sumbawa today reads; wave height has also dropped back a notch over at Lakey’s down into the waist to shoulder high range. The wind was light off-shore for the 20 surfers out on the Peak @ 7.30am and 3 surfers sitting on the Pipe. Ok then crew that’s about me for now but don’t go too far away cause it looks like we could be in for a new swell very shortly indeed. Back with more surf and weather info from friendly Bali as it happens.
