MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** Howdy surfers and thanks for calling round for another look at what’s happening surf and weather wise around Bali. As I mentioned in yesterdays report the wind direction started off light on-shore in the morning but around 10.00am the Tradewind kicked in outta the ESE-SE and back to off-shore along Bali’s best surfing coastline, the West Coast . Well I’ve just got back from checking out surfing conditions on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban, (right now the clock has just gone 8.00am) and there’s still some nice waves breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left . The tide was still running out according to my 11yr old tide watch and should hit the bottom around 9.00-9.30am. There was no one out surfing on Kuta Reef at the time but there will be as soon as the tide turns for the run in. Yesterday afternoon Kuta Reef was cranking with the set waves pushing 4ft (a few feet over head). Today it’s gunna be more like 2-3 feet. Middle Reef had a few riders out there and wave height was still in the 3-4ft class. Further down the line at Airport Left there’s waves breaking up to head high, and they’ll only get better on the incoming tide. There might even be few 3 footers breaking around on Airport Rights at the same time. Uluwatu would be the optimum location for the tube junkies today and there’d still be some solid 5 footers (double head high) breaking on the Main Peak and Temple sections. Wind direction is coming lightly outta the East and off-shore at 1-2knot, but ya can count on it building in strength by midday. Weather wise around Tuban (the next suburb south of Kuta) we’ve got blue sky with just a touch of thin cloud up high. Another perfect beach / holiday type day coming on for the already growing number of lucky buggers starting to turn up in Bali . Last night I finally finished loading up your 4 new video clips, so take a flick through the now 96 clips we have on baliwaves.com until ya find em. I’ve gotta get myself over to the chiropractor in another hour so I won’t be able to get out on location today, but come tomorrow I’ll be back out there getting ya’s some more DV with the new / second hand Cannon XL2. I also wanna let everyone know that helped out baliwaves.com securing the deposit on our new Cannon XL2 video machine. We have her, now I’ve just gotta learn how to use her and then pay her off, I’m totally stoked, THANKS !!!
