AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE **** Hello surfers and thanks for dropping by the baliwaves.com for another run down on today’s surf and weather conditions in Bali. Well things are starting to get back to normal for Slim, after a shocker last week. Brought on by some of my good friends and their duty free alcohol. Anyway I was down doing the surf recon of the Outer Reefs at 7.00am and was happy to see a slight improvement in wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport Left . The tide was just coming off the bottom of 0.7mtr Low and the wind was coming lightly outta the West and on-shore at 1-3knot. Kuta Reef had a few surfers in the line-up catching waves in the 2ft range. They were only waist highish but still peeling off for 50yrds+. Middle Reef was picking up a better looking 2-3ft+ on the set waves and there were also a few riders on em. Airport Left was in the 2-2ft+ range and had a pretty solid crowd of around 25 surfers out there. Even though the wind was blowing straight on-shore from the West surfing conditions were still relatively clean and smooth. Uluwatu woulda been the best option to find some bigger waves today and that’s where I’ll be heading first thing tomorrow morning. I’m also hopping that we might see another slight boost in wave size by then. Weather wise , so far today it’s been a beauty with nothing but blue sky upstairs. Right now at 1.00pm the outside temperature would have to be sitting on 30 degree’s Celsius. And I can tell ya’s first hand that the water temp here along Bali ’s West Coast is a very enjoyable 24 C. If your wondering what the dollar exchange rate is doing out there on the streets of Kuta, then let me tell ya that 1AU$=Rp7,525 and 1US$=Rp9,075. It’s also reassuring to see plenty of Aussie’s turning up in Bali once again. Ok then have a good one out there and make sure ya call by tomorrow for some more images and video clips straight outta Bali . Just before I check out I just wanna remind ya’s that we have a whole new design for the baliwaves.com and it should be ready for ya’s anytime in the next couple of weeks I hope.
Lakey Peak on the island of Sumbawa; Made sms’d through his run down on surfing conditions from lakey’s at 7.00am and says that wave height has actually dropped down a notch over there this morning. But there were still 15 surfers in the water surfing The Peak and no one surfing over on The Pipe. Made’s head count of the number of visiting surfers in the area has just jumped back to 60.
