MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** Good morning crew and welcome to the machine that spins out daily surf reports along with the quality images and video clips to back it all up. Live from here in Bali / Indonesia . And I hope those of you who tuned in through out the weekend enjoyed the photos from good old Kuta Reef . This morning’s 6.00am surf recon of the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was showing a slight drop in wave height, down to 2-4ft between Kuta Reef and Airport Left . The tide was on the run in for a 2.00mtr High scheduled in for 9.00am and the wind was still only light outta the ESE @ 1-3knot and off-shore from Legian to Uluwatu along Bali ’s West Coast. Kuta Reef was still peeling off waves in the shoulder to head high range and there were two surfers enjoying it too themselves on the dawny. Middle Reef was still attracting the occasional 4 footer for Jeff R and Andrew S who also had it to themselves. Airport Left was slightly smaller outta the 3 breaking in the 1-2ft range and there were a couple of boat loads of Japanese surfers making there way to it at the time. Uluwatu would be my pick for the best waves around the island today but unfortunately I won’t be making the trip down there, wave height would still have to at least be in the 3-4ft+ range for sure. Over at Keramas today the B.S.A is holding a contest sponsored by Quicksilver and that would be worth checking out. My good friend Devis Ratif (Team Quicksilver Indo) will be in there for the money, riding one of my BALIWAVES / DIVERSE boards all the way to the finals. Weather wise around this end of the island today we had some solid cloud starting to move up from the South and I’m thinking that it could be associated with the advancing new swell system in transit to Indonesia . But other wise it’s just gunna be another hot and sunny day for the happy holiday crew in Bali . We better also say thanks to the good people of the Kandui Surf Resort up in the Mentawai islands for sending us these 5 new photos of what they’ve been surfing over the weekend. Email dept: hang in there crew if your waiting because I’m gunna be doing some speed typing today… to try and lighten my mail box. Ok the batteries are all charged and lens are all clean, so tomorrow I’ll be on a mission to shoot some video for ya’s. have a good one what ever ya have on today and Timmy try not to break any more boards please mate !
Lakey Peak on the island of Sumbawa ; Made sms’d through his report on surfing conditions from the famous lakey peak and says that wave height has dropped back into the 2-3ft range out the front on Lakey Peak . Surfing conditions were clean and glassy with no wind present at 7.0am. there 15 surfers in the water on The Peak and another 6 riders across the channel on Lakey Pipe. There was also a lotta surfers heading down the beach towards Periscopes for the in-coming tide. The total number of visiting surfers in the Lakey area is still floating around the 75 mark. Hey an if any of ya’s want to say hello to Made you can find him at the Aman Gati Hotel right in front of Lakey Peak.
