MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** Good morning surfers, thanks for dropping by for the run down on surf and weather conditions in Bali today. I was down checking the Outer Reefs of Tuban at 6.45am and things are looking real positive for more perfect surf . I was kinda expecting a new swell to start showing on Wednesday but it looks like it’s already showing, can’t complain about that can ya ? The tide was just about on the bottom of a mid range 0.8mtr Low set for 7.00am. Kuta Reef was reeling off some long walled 3-4 footers and there were already a few takers in the water taking advantage of an un-crowded line-up. Middle Reef was breaking in the head to almost double head high range, or 3-5ft. While further down the line at Airport Left wave height was in the shoulder to head high plus class. And there’d be no doubt that you’d be able to take your pick of locations all the way from Kuta Reef down to Uluwatu . Bingin woulda had to have been cranking on the bottom of the tide for sure. Now at 8.45am we’ve got nothing more than a sky filled with blue and a top beach day coming at us. I might even change my plan for running down to Uluwatu and try and get out in the channel at Kuta Reef to show ya’s how good the waves can be at my local, we’ll see how it goes hey. Another thing crew, I am working on the VIDEO SECTION to try and get the latest vids at the front so ya’s don’t have to scroll through the whole 120+ clips , so bear with us. We’re also just about ready to unleash the NEW DESIGN baliwaves.com. Then you’ll be able to check out the different webcams from all over the globe, courtesy of wavewatch.com and surfermag.com . 100% gratis. Have a good one and try and get some work done then check back with us later this afternoon for some fresh photos from your favorite surfing holiday location called Bali . Lakey Peak on the island of Sumbawa; Our surf reporter over at Lakey Peak, Dewa Made has sms’d through his observations and says that wave height out the front on Lakey Peak is pumping through perfect left and rights in the head to double head high range. Surfing conditions were ultra clean and glassy for the the 20 surfers that were in the water at 7.00am. He also mentioned that Nunga’s was peeling off 100yrd+ long rides for the group of riders that were surfing down there. The total number of visiting surfers in the area is still way down low at 50. for anyone want ing to try out Lakey Peak make sure you check the tidal information before you head over there. It’s pretty important that you line up your time there while the High Tide is happening through the early am and then progressing forward each day. That way you’ll be assured of scoring perfection. Merpati Airlines are flying there daily from Bali and you can buy your tickets from a 1000 different travel agents anywhere in Bali (and save yourselves some dollars by doing it on your pat malone) Once your in Bima there’s transport drivers waiting to take you to Lakey Peak for around Rp500,000 per van, and that’s split between the surfers. Then ya got a range of Hotels to choose from all right in front of the waves, ranging from low low budget to the very very comfortable rooms of the Aman Gati Hotel.
