AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE **** Hello again surfers and thanks for taking the time to tune into the Baliwaves daily surf ‘n weather report . Well there wasn’t much happening surfwise on the Outer Reefs this morning, wave height woulda been lucky to have been pushing knee high on the bigger set waves. The wind was already fairly strong coming outta the SSE-ESE @ 5-9knot and straight off-shore from legian to Uluwatu . So I thought I’d take my little reef boat for a run down South past Uluwatu to Nyang Nyang ’s, fishing of course. So around 9.00am I was cruising past Balangan and I was pretty surprised to see about 20 surfers in the water with wave height in the 1-2ft range, on a 2.4mtr High Tide. Going past Bingin there weren’t any takers as wave height was only just in the half to one foot class. But down at Uluwatu wave height was still showing in the shoulder to head high range and there was something like 25 surfers spread along the reef from Temple ’s to the Main Peak . Around on the eastern side of Bali at Nyang Nyang’s wave height was also hitting the shoulder to head high range. But by 10.00am the Tradewind had already jumped into the 12-16knot class and howling on-shore around on that side of Bali . But that’s where the Yellow Fin were at ! Weather wise apart from the strong off-shore wind we’ve had another basic hot and sunny day here in Bali . Right now at 4.00pm the temperature would still have to be around 27-28 degree’s Celcius but there is some cloud moving in from the North and maybe we’ll get a few drops or rain sometime tonight. Ok there ya’s have it for today. But let me just tell ya about some crazy Tasmanian surfers that joined us for a few drinks last night here in Tuban. They pulled out a bottle of Tequilla and before we knew it we were sniffing salt, slamming straight Tequilla and squirting lemon in our eye’s !!! Talk about histerical laughter, plus they even had a video camera rolling so I’ll try and get a copy of the footage and give ya’s a look just how funny it was.Tomorrow I’ve got the feeling there’s not gunna be to much happening surf wise around Bali, but stay tuned through the weekend cause we’ve got a new swell in transit to us as I type. Have a good one and we certainly hope to catch ya’s here in Bali this year. One more thing dept: The good guys at www.ihfonline.org who have been running the Balinese Orphan Schooling Program are in serious need of financial help to keep their operation above water, so please if anyone can help these fantastic people please drop them a line. Thanks.
