AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE **** Hello crew and welcome aboard the baliwaves.com afternoon wrap up on whats been happening surfwise from Kuta Reef all the way down south to Uluwatu and beyond. Well I don’t know about you lot but I’ve had a good ole day. Like I said yesterday afternoon I threw the rods in the boat and nicked off fishing for a bit of R ‘n R. But I had one eye on all the surfing locations that I passed along the way. Pushing out past Kuta Reef at 7.30am there were 6 surfers in the water and some “something to do” type waves breaking in the waist to chest high range. It actually looked like fun. Middle Reef was breaking in the chest to head high class and there were slightly more surers in the water there. Airport Left had 10 surfers on it and wave height was a playful waist to chest high size as well. The wind was light outta the NE first up but by the time I made it to Balangan she was already building in strength outta the ESE-SE and more straight off-shore @ 8-10knot . Balangan had around 25 surfers spread down the reef and wave height was coming through in the shoulder high range on the bigger sets that I saw. The tide was also on the way in for a solid High and no one surfing at Dreamland or Bingin. Impossible’s had 3 surfers in the water but looking pretty fat and full. Uluwatu was the place to get some more powerful waves in today. As I was approaching I could see wave height breaking in the head to head high plus range and around 30+ surfers spread out from Temple ’s and down through the Main Peak . I even ducked around the corner and had a quick look at Nyang Nyang’s and there was just the same amount of swell getting there as there was at Uluwatu. Scott T from here at Home Base Bali surfed up at Canggu this morning and has just reported in that wave height was breaking in the waist to nipple high range and loaded with surfers. I only ended up boating one solid blue Tuna today but it’s pretty satisfying when your out there by yourself doing it all on your own. Coming back in to the beach via the Outer Reefs here in Tuban there was still a bit of swell left but the Tradewind was having the last say, howling off-shore outta the SE @ 10-16knot . Weather wise it’s been hot and sunny all day with just a touch of white cloud scattered about. Ok I’ve had my day of goofing off and tomorrow Dewa Made and I will be heading down South to Uluwatu to get ya’s some fresh photos for the baliwaves.com SUNDAY SESSION to suss out. In the mean time here’s a few photos from my little digimatic pocket camera. Have a good one for now and we’ll see ya’s here again tomorrow afternoon ! Hey and don’t forget about the 5 NEW VIDEO CLIPS I got loaded up yesterday afternoon featuring 2 clips of ULUWATU, 1 clip from IMPOSSIBLE’S and 2 tube riddled clips from BINGIN !!! The good guys at www.ihfonline.org who have been running the Balinese Orphan Schooling Program are in serious need of financial help to keep their operation above water, so please if anyone can help these fantastic people please drop them a line.
