**** EVENING SURF UP-DATE**** Evening friends, just though I’d let ya’s know that when I was down at the beach for the sunset there was some nice waves peeling off on Middle Reef while the tide was still coming in. There looked to be still quite a few surfers in the water 20+ and wave height was a consistent 2-3ft with the odd occasional 4 footer . The wind was still blowing hard outta the ESE-SE and straight off-shore to go with it. I’ll definitely be heading South to Uluwatu tomorrow morning so make sure ya’s call in after lunch. Tomorrow also brings the New Moon so we can expect to start seeing some big tide differences over the next 3-4 days. Another thing I wanna tell ya’s that if ya have already checked out the Dan’s SUPER BANK SURF REPORT you’d already know that the Super Bank is going off with some solid kegs peeling off for the odd 500yrd plus ride . Check it out and I’ll talk to ya’s again tomorrow.
**** MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** Hello folks and thanks for tuning in for the baliwaves.com 7/7 daily surf and weather report. Well ater checking out surfing conditions on the Outer Reefs of Tuban this morning I’ve flagged a “lay day”. Wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport Left was breaking in the shin to knee high plus on the bigger set waves. Actual surfing conditions are perfect though, with the ESE-SE off-shore Tradewind blowing @ 3-7knot . We had a 2.2mtr High Tide filling in around 9.30am and that made the waves look even fatter. Best bet for a paddle today is gunna be down at Uluwatu or taking your pick of the untold number of perfect little beach breaks along Kuta / Legian . Weather wise we’ve got some solid cloud cover over us but There’s not much chance of seeing any rain I don’t think. Looking at the swell predictions for Bali and it’s looking like we’re gunna be in for a couple more days of small surf. Hopefully we’ll be seeing some new waves early next week. On the contest trail, there’s another one supposed to be happening today down at Bingin but there wouldn’t be anything breaking down there this morning. Seeing as though there’s nothing exciting happening out in the surf today (and I know ya’s don’t wanna see photos of these conditions I decided to load ya’s up a few photos of “ when it all goes pear shaped” I hope ya’s like em. God know’s we’ve all been there. Anyway maybe Dan has sent us through some new photos from the Super Bank down on Australia ’s Gold Coast. I’ll check that out once we’ve this stuff on-line. Ok stay tuned through the weekend cause I’ll be keeping ya’s up ta date all through it. Have a good one and now, knowing that the surfs pretty small over here ya’s can rest easy. The travel warnings go something like; blah blah blah, we strongly advise you to cancel all non-essiential travel to Bali , blah blah blah. Well me personally, I consider getting perfect waves and long tube rides pretty farking essiential… Ok then that’s me for now but I’ll be out there somewhere collecting some new stuff for ya’s tomorrow. Don’t forget to have a flick through the Mentawai Surf Report / The Super Bank Surf Report or Pierre’s Readers Report . Catch ya’s later. We want you guys to come over and have a ball and then go back home and tell your friends how good it is.
Lakey Peak on the island of Sumbawa ; Onky has filled through his sms surf report from Lakey Peak and reckons that wave height is down in the 2-3ft range with the very very occasional 4 footer hitting Lakey Peak . Surfing conditions were clean and glassy with no wind present at the time. There were 20 surfers riding the left and rights on “The Peak” and another 15 surfers sitting across the channel at Lakey Pipe . And with the morning High tide there was plenty of traffic on the beach heading down towards Periscopes . The total number of surfers visiting the Lakey area has jumped back to just over 100. For anyone want ing to try out Lakey Peak make sure you check the tidal information before you head over there. It’s pretty important that you line up your time there while the High Tide is happening through the early am and then progressing forward each day. That way you’ll be assured of scoring perfection. Merpati Airlines are flying there daily from Bali and you can buy your tickets from a 1000 different travel agents anywhere in Bali (and save yourselves some dollars by doing it on your pat malone) Once your in Bima there’s transport drivers waiting to take you to Lakey Peak for around Rp500,000 per van, and that’s split between the surfers. Then ya got a range of Hotels to choose from all right in front of the waves, ranging from low low budget to the very very comfortable rooms of the Aman Gati Hotel. Plus ya can always drop us an email for more information on getting across to lakey’s
