**** MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** G’Day crew and welcome aboard the baliwaves.com daily surf and weather report machine . The time has just gone past 8.30am over here in sunny Bali and I’ve just got back from staring at the ocean, searching for a sign of improvement in wave height. But not just yet. Wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport Left is still miniscule , around knee to knee high plus on the set waves. The wind was blowing off-shore outta the ESE @ 4-7knot so surfing conditions were clean and smooth. The next tide will be a solid 2.5mtr High happening around 11.30am, then we’ve got a dry reef exposing 0.1mtr Low tide going down around 6.00pm. One of my local friends from down at Uluwatu phoned in last night and said there were a few head high waves still breaking down there and that’ll probably be the same for today. The beach breaks of Kuta and Legian will also have a few small ones breaking through the higher end of the tide. I’m thinking that we might even start to see some improvement in wave height by late this afternoon, setting the scene for some good stuff tomorrow, fingers crossed of course. I’ve got Dewa Made on the road to Uluwatu at the moment so he’ll be back with some photographic evidence on surfing conditions down there for us later this evening. Weather wise today we had a lot of early morning cloud cover but now as the Tradewind has started to kick in she’s clearing up and leaving a big blue sky behind, More warm to hot weather and perfect water temperature to go with it. Ok then folks have a good one today what ever ya got happening in your part of the World. Tune in again later this evening and we’ll have some more news for ya’s on your favorite surfing holiday destination. I have loaded 150 photos into the Surfing Gallery for July and 30 or so photos into the Kuta Cam Gallery . Catch ya’s again tomorrow. Don’t forget to have a flick through the Mentawai Surf Report / The Super Bank Surf Report or Pierre’s Readers Report . Catch ya’s later. We want you guys to come over and have a ball and then go back home and tell your friends how good it is
Lakey Peak on the island of Sumbawa ; Onky is on the ball again and has sent through his sms surf report from Lakey Peak . He says that there was also plenty of cloud cover this morning and maybe even the possibility of some rain. Wave height remains in the 2ft range (that’s about the bottom limit of wave height over there, just like down at Uluwatu here on Bali ) and surfing conditions were clean and glassy. At 7.30am there were 9 surfers out on Lakey Peak and another 2 surfers sitting out at Lakey Pipe . The total number of visitors in the area has risen to 115. For anyone want ing to try out Lakey Peak make sure you check the tidal information before you head over there. It’s pretty important that you line up your time there while the High Tide is happening through the early am and then progressing forward each day. That way you’ll be assured of scoring perfection. Merpati Airlines are flying there daily from Bali and you can buy your tickets from a 1000 different travel agents anywhere in Bali (and save yourselves some dollars by doing it on your pat malone) Once your in Bima there’s transport drivers waiting to take you to Lakey Peak for around Rp500,000 per van, and that’s split between the surfers. Then ya got a range of Hotels to choose from all right in front of the waves, ranging from low low budget to the very very comfortable rooms of the Aman Gati Hotel. Plus ya can always drop us an email for more information on getting across to lakey’s
