**** MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** Howdy friends, thanks for stopping by the baliwaves.com for another look at todays surf and weather conditions here in Bali . First up these new photos were taken down at Uluwatu yesterday by my good friend Ari Ajus . As ya’s can see there was some nive waves happening in the 2-4ft range . This morning I’m happy to say that there has been a significant increase in wave height and everyone’s gunna be happy with it today. I was down the beach at 6.15am and wave height on the Outer Reefs was coming through in the 2-4ft range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left . The wind was already coming outta the ESE @ 7-10knot and perfectly off-shore between Legian and Uluwatu . The tide was almost on the bottom of a 0.7mtr Low and as she starts to run back in there’s gunna be some nice waves coming through on Kuta Reef and Airports . Middle Reef was looking the best at the moment, being a deep reef and better suited to the Lower end of the tide. You’d also be finding some nice little barrels down at Bingin this morning, and the Racetrack at Uluwatu would be the place to find the bigger and longer waves. Weather wise today we’ve got more cloud cover to kick off the day but we can more than likely expect more hot and sunny weather by midday. Ok I’ve gotta do some domestic stuff today in preparation for a special event coming up in the very near future (I’ll fill ya’s in on that shortly). But the main thing for today is that there’s gunna be waves galore for everyone that’s not scared of a “POSSIBLE, imminent terrorist attack in Bali ” Gotta love that wording hey. I’ll be back later on this evening to fill ya’s with a late afternoon wrap up on what’s gone down today, so until then have a good one and hopefully we’ll see ya’s here in Bali real soon. Lakey Peak on the island of Sumbawa; Onky has sms’d through his news from Lakey Peak and says that wave height has also boosted into the 4-5ft class over there and that there’s smiles all round. No wind so surfing conditions were clean and glassy with the swell coming outta the SW. There were already 20 surfers in the water on Lakey Peak catching some perfect left and right handers. No one surfing at any of the other perfect waves in the area but as the tide pushes in there will be for sure. The total number of visitors staying in the area has mellowed out a touch to 90. For anyone want ing to try out Lakey Peak make sure you check the tidal information before you head over there. It’s pretty important that you line up your time there while the High Tide is happening through the early am and then progressing forward each day. That way you’ll be assured of scoring perfection. Merpati Airlines are flying there daily from Bali and you can buy your tickets from a 1000 different travel agents anywhere in Bali (and save yourselves some dollars by doing it on your pat malone) Once your in Bima there’s transport drivers waiting to take you to Lakey Peak for around Rp500,000 per van, and that’s split between the surfers. Then ya got a range of Hotels to choose from all right in front of the waves, ranging from low low budget to the very very comfortable rooms of the Aman Gati Hotel. Plus ya can always drop us an email for more information on getting across to lakey’s
