**** MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** G’Day surfers and thanks for dropping in for another look at todays surf and weather conditions for Bali . Yesterday wave height continued on the downward slide but there was still a few waves down at Uluwatu as ya’s can see in these photos I loaded up yesterday afternoon. Thanks to local Uluwatu Surf Photography Team , “Ari Ajus and Hendra” This morning when I went down for morning surf check of the Outer Reefs here in Tuban there was hardly a ripple breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left . Well to be generous I’d call it as 1ft on the set waves. We had another 0.6mtr Low that went down at 8.00am and when she runs back in for a 2.0 High at 2.00pm there won’t be anything at all breaking out there. Yesterday I actually goofed off long enough to slip down to my favourite little beach break with some of the local grommets and had some fun little 2-2ft+ right handers. There’ll probably still be something breaking along the beachies around midday again today. The wind has been honking outta the ESE-SE upta 15knot+ since about 7.00am, straight off-shore between Legian and Uluwatu. I’d say there’d still be some 2-2ft+ waves down at Uluwatu as well today for anyone wanting them. Weather wise it’s pretty hot and humid out there with a mixture of blue sky and cloud. We even had about 1 minute of rain earlier on. The good news is that I’m figuring on a new swell starting to appear around Bali ’s reefs anytime in the next 24-36hrs . With another swell coming in straight behind her, should be cranking all next week here in Bali ! Ok then that’s about us for now, Dan from the Super Bank on Aussie’s Gold Coast sent us in some new photos and report yesterday and it’s going off, check it out ! Plus there’s more news in from the Kandui Surf Resort up in the Mentawai Islands of Sumatra . Have a good one and we’ll see ya’s again tomorrow for the baliwaves.com SUNDAY SESSION . Lakey Peak on the island of Sumbawa; Onky’S 7.30am sms surf report says that conditions are absolutely perfect over at lakey’s today, if only there was some decent swell ! Perfect wind , perfect early morning tide , but only 1-2ft waves breaking out the front on Lakey Peak . Even so there were still 10 surfers out there for a bit of excersise. The total number of visiting surfers in the area has faded back to around 80. Also happening over at Lakey Peak next month the annual Dompu Pro open surfing contest will be happening from the 13th to 15th of August . All surfers are welcome to get over there and compete ! For anyone want ing to try out Lakey Peak make sure you check the tidal information before you head over there. It’s pretty important that you line up your time there while the High Tide is happening through the early am and then progressing forward each day. That way you’ll be assured of scoring perfection. Merpati Airlines are flying there daily from Bali and you can buy your tickets from a 1000 different travel agents anywhere in Bali (and save yourselves some dollars by doing it on your pat malone) Once your in Bima there’s transport drivers waiting to take you to Lakey Peak for around Rp500,000 per van, and that’s split between the surfers. Then ya got a range of Hotels to choose from all right in front of the waves, ranging from low low budget to the very very comfortable rooms of the Aman Gati Hotel. Plus ya can always drop us an email for more information on getting across to lakey’s
