Super Bank / Australia; 26th July 07
Howdy folks and thanks for joining us again.
Well yesterday I got down to Snapper and there were a few small ones on offer.
There was a host of local rippers out. Jay Phillips was out shredding again on a small fish style board he picked up on a recent trip to the states. And he was boosting airs all over the place.
The shapers convention turned up a little later Stuart Darcy of Darcy handshapes. Darcy is a world-class shaper who has shaped a lot of boards over the years for notable surfers such as world champs Martin Potter, Layne Beachley. You can check out his work at www.darcysurfboards.com.
A little later Sparrow from Base surfboards was out smashing the back out of a few on his backhand.. You can check out his boards at www.basesurfboards.com . Its great to see shapers who can actually surf!! And surf well!! Makes you feel a little better about ordering a boar d from them.
Another guy who was slotting into a few barrels was matt Aldridge who was amazingly fitting himself and his 9ft longboard into some tiny tubes and making a lot of them
Well things aren’t looking good for today …Friday but there’s supposed to be a bump in the swell on the weekend. So keep tuning in and I’ll keep reporting on what’s happening
High tides about 6am today and low around midday.
A few guys have been asking me about photos from previous reports that they missed out on seeing. Just a reminder if you go to the reports section on the left menu click on archives then in the drop down box select Super bank and you will see all the past reports listed by date.
Feel free to use these pics for your “own personal use only”. All we ask is that you do not remove the labels that are on them. ( www.baliwaves.com etc).
Also if you think you were surfing on any of these days at the time of these photos. You can contact me through my site www.OceanArtwork.com for the Super bank report photos or contact Slim for any other pics you see on BaliWaves.com
All for now
Dan
