MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** Hey crew thanks for waiting around for the run down on how it is surf and weather wise around Bali today. Well first off I better just mention how good it was out at Kuta Reef yesterday, 3-4ft and peeling off for eternity. Crowd wise she was pretty meelow as well with around 25-30 surfers in the water. This morning and wave height had kicked again on the Outer Reefs with wave height coming through in the 3-6ft class . I was out sitting in the channel at Kuta Reef with the 600mm and SLR (unfortunately..) There was somewhere around 35+ surfers in the line-up this morning but there was no shortage of waves coming through. The average sized sets were pushing double head high while the tide was running up for a 2.4mtr High scheduled in for 11.00am. Middle Reef was where the bigger waves were breaking in the solid 6ft range and there was also around 15-20 surfers out there. Airport Left had around 20 surfers out there with wave height in the 3-4ft+ range. There woulda been good waves breaking all the way along Bali’s famous South Western Coastline , and Uluwatu woulda have to have been pulling in at least 8 footers. Weather wise it’s another classic for the beach with 90% blue sky out there. Temperature wise the mercury is sitting around the 30 degree Celsius now at high noon. I’m thinking wave height is gunna back off a foot or two through out tomorrow and then bounce back with a vengeance through Wednesday and Thursday. And… hopefully the Rip Curl Padang Padang Cup will be ON ! I’ve already got us a ride down locked in with one of Indonesia ’s best ranked surfers, Devis Ratif . So make sure ya stay tuned to the baliwaves.com !
We’ll also have more reports and photos from the Super Bank , Mentawai Islands and not to mention our roving surf reporter Pierre filling ya’s in on the Readers Report page.
