**** MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** Good morning crew and thanks for tuning in to Bali ’s Original Surf and Weather website (since ’99) . Yep as ya’s can already see in these current photos we ended up blasting away out at Kuta Reef . Only because of a lack of swell, and for the want of a different location. And we gotta say that we like to get as close to the action as we possibly can, that’s why photographers buy big lens for their camera’s. To get ya’s as much detail and feel into each photo. I mean ya wouldn’t buy a magazine if it had all It’s photos captured by a pocket sized digimatic would ya… Anyway there was only around 20 surfers in the water at KR yesterday and 4 of them were local surfers. Even though there was a relatively small crowd the drop in factor was astronomical, I only saw 1 local drop in and flick straight off but the visiting surfers just couldn’t help emselves and were constantly dropping in on each other and the locals. Go figure that, I was almost embarrassed by it. This morning the 6th and I was down doing the visual surf check of the Outer Reefs at 7.00am and wave height has dropped off a touch more, currently in the 1-3ft range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left . The tide was just about on the bottom of a 0.7mtr Low scheduled for 8.00am. Kuta Reef was peeling off perfectly but just a touch too small and shallow @ 1-2ft. Middle Reef did have a few playful 3 footers breaking but a bit of a wait for the sets. Airport Left was also still too low and only in the one to one and half foot class. I had a sms surf report from one of my friends who is staying down at Balangan and he reckoned there were a few waves down there this morning in the 2-3ft+ class and 10 surfers in the water at 7.00am. Uluwatu would be the best option for a paddle today and you’d more than likely find wave height to be in the 2-4ft+ range. There were no surfers in the water at the time I was on the beach. The wind was already strong off-shore coming outta the ESE-SE @ 8-12knot and will probably get even stronger by midday. Weather wise it’s another grey and cloudy start outside but never the less the temperature should at least make the high twenties on the Celsius scale. Ok then that just about sums us up for this mornings rundown I’ve gotta get my little motor bike into the mechanics for a service so have a good one and get ready for the weekend on baliwaves.com. Because we’ll be keeping the reports flowing to ya’s.
