**** AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE **** Howdy folks and thanks for hanging around until I got back home from Uluwatu . And Selamat Hari Raya Kuningan to all the Balinese Hindu on this special day. My first surf check of the Outer Reefs of Tuban went down at 7.30am this morning. Wave height was showing in the 1-3ft range again with the wind already blowing hard outta the ESE @ 10-12knot . Off-shore wind from legian to Uluwatu along Bali ’s West Coast. The tide was still on the way down for a 0.8mtr Low set for 8.00am so it was still too shallow for Kuta Reef and Airport Left . But there were a few surfers in the water at Middle Reef catching waves upta head high . I decided on Uluwatu for todays photo shoot and as ya’s can see in these current photos there was some nice waves coming through on the Main Peak. Wave height on the set waves was pushing 4ft and surfing conditions were smooth and clean. There was something like 40 surfers in the water with local Uluwatu shredder Wayan Gobleg being the stand out. Coming home past Padang Padang and Impossible’s there wasn’t anything breaking at Padang x 2 but there were a few 2-3 footers peeling down the reef at Impossibles . An only around 15 surfers spread through the line-up. I’d also imagine Balangan woulda had a few 2-3 footers further down the line as well. Weather wise it’s been a beauty with just blue sky and sunshine. Ok then crew I’m outta here for now, gotta start getting ready for some Temple time tonight. But we’ll be back with more surf and weather info straight from Bali again on tomorrow’s SUNDAY SESSION . Have a good one and start planning your next indo surf trip today. Lakey Peak on the island of Sumbawa ; Onky, our surfer on the scene at Lakey Peak sent through his sms surf report at 7.00am and said that wave height was still cranking through in the 3-5ft range. Surfing conditions were clean and glassy at the time and there were 20 surfers riding the perfect left and rights of Lakey Peak . With the early morning lowish tide there was no one surfing at any of the other locations in the area. The total number of visiting surfers at lakey’s is still running at 125. For anyone want ing to try out Lakey Peak make sure you check the tidal information before you head over there. It’s pretty important that you line up your time there while the High Tide is happening through the early am and then progressing forward each day. That way you’ll be assured of scoring perfection. Merpati Airlines are flying there daily from Bali and you can buy your tickets from a 1000 different travel agents anywhere in Bali (and save yourselves some dollars by doing it on your pat malone) Once your in Bima there’s transport drivers waiting to take you to Lakey Peak for around Rp500,000 per van, and that’s split between the surfers. Then ya got a range of Hotels to choose from all right in front of the waves, ranging from low low budget to the very very comfortable rooms of the Aman Gati Hotel. Plus ya can always drop us an email for more information on getting across to lakey’s
