AFTERNOON UP-DATE **** SELAMAT HARI RAYA MERDEKA INDONESIA !!! Hey hello again crew and I tell ya’s, it sure is good to back home in Bali again. Yep 4 days in Singapore but it was all worth it and now I don’t need to go anywhere for another 12 months. I also received the royal treatment coming through Indonesian Imigration as a registered tax payer (Kitas Visa). Ok anyway I’ll fill ya’s in on my little trip and thoughts on Singapore as we move along. For now let me tell ya’s whats happening surf and weather wise here on the happy little holiday island of Bali . I checked out surfing conditions on the Outer Reefs around 10.00am and there were some ok little waves peeling through out on Kuta Reef in the 2-3ft range . The tide was still running up for 2.3mtr High set for 1.00pm so the waves were probably at their best at the time and will more than likely start to get a bit fat towards the top. The wind was howling off-shore coming outta the ESE-SE @ 10-14knot+. Maybe later this afternoon Middle Reef will produce a few waves as the tide runs back out, being better suited to the lower end of the tide. Uluwatu would be the place for some more size and power and I reckon there’d still be some 4-4ft+ waves down there. Weather wise outside in Bali today she’s a beauty with plenty of blue sky and sunshine. Right now at 12.30pm the temperature would be cooking in the low 30’s on the Celsius scale. I haven’t tested the water temp yet but I can tell ya’s it’s a high on my list of priorities. I’ll also be taking a close look at the swell forecasts and see if there’s anymore swell in transit to us in the near future. I’m just gunna kick back this afternoon and sort everything out. But tomorrow we’ll be heading down to Uluwatu to get the Baliwaves.com machine back on the road with some fresh photos and video for ya’s to check out. The Dompu Open surfing contest has also been run while I was away and reports in say the even was run in waves in the head to double head high class at Lakey Peak . The winner was one of Indo’s best natural footers Pepen with the ever famous Rizal Tanjung finishing a close second.
