Bali Surf Report – September 3 2007

MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** Hello surfers and thanks for calling by for the start of another surfing week here in Bali . An just like I said we would we kept it coming all through the weekend live from Kuta Reef. This morning just a few words come to mind, relentless, constant, non stop . That’s what I was thinking when I was down checking on surfing conditions. It looks like we got another new swell starting to show maybe a touch more South in this system. Wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport Left was pulsing through in the 3-5ft class, but that was while the tide was still running for the bottom of the Low (6.30am). Wind direction was already coming fresh outta the ESE @ 5-10 knot and straight off-shore between Legian and Uluwatu. The tide is going to bottom out at a 0.4mtr Low around 8.00am so it’s gunna be too shallow on Kuta Reef or Airport Left / Right. But it’ll be cranking out there from 10.00am – 1.00pm for sure. Middle Reef was pulling the bigger set waves and still pushing the double head high class, but there weren’t no surfers in the water at the time. This morning if you were heading down to Bingin or Impossible’s you’d be doing pretty good before the tide starts filling back in. Then when it does you could then take your pick of Uluwatu, Balangan, Dreamland, Kuta Reef or Airport Left. The next High tide will be 1.9mtrs at 2.00pm. Weather wise it’s all good outside, blue sky and sunshine. I’m gunna have to head back out to Kuta Reef with the 600mm and 14 mega pixel SLR around 10.00am. Well I sure as hell won’t be surfing with a full swollen ankle. I was just getting into position out at Kuta Reef yesterday when a freak set came through (a whole 4 feet) but some dude riding a Malibu thought he better chuck his board with out looking who was right behind him, Me. The mongrel of a thing hit me in the head (no problem there) but then karate chopped me in the arm and then ankle. Lucky for him my board didn’t suffer any harm… Ok our roving reporter Dewa Made was down at Bingin yesterday morning shooting some digital video for us and I’ll be loading ya’s up a NEW VIDEO CLIP as soon as this is on line. For the non surfers here in Bali , or if ya just want to have a break from riding the perfection that’s been hammering us of late. Up in Kuta there’s plenty going on with the annual Kuta Carnival being run from the 1^st – 9^th September .
