AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE **** G’Day friends, well there hasn’t been too much happening surf wise around this part of Bali today. My first surf check of the Outer Reefs went down at 8.00am, just as the tide was coming off the bottom of another reef exposing 0.1mtr Low tide (6.30am). Wave height between Kuta Reef and Airports had dropped back off again (yo-yo effect) back down to the 1-2ft range. Nothing happening on Kuta Reef or Airport Left but there were a few surfers out on Middle Reef catching the odd waist to nipple high set wave. The wind was coming outta the North @ 1-2knot but it was still clean and glassy. A couple of the lads staying with us here at Home Base hit the road for Uluwatu in search of waves and they might have been lucky enough to score the odd head high set down there. Sometime around midday the wind shifted around to the South and increased up to 5-7knot. Making it on-shore on both sides of the island. My last surf recon went down at 4.00pm and the 1-2 footers we had this morning on the Outer Reefs have deteriated further down the scale to 1-1ft+. Weather wise it’s been another hot and sunny day around the Southern end of Bali , with the temperature peaking in the low to mid 30’s Celsius outta the shade. I’d have to feel sorry for any surfers that are staying up in the Kuta to Seminyak area at this time of the year. Seeing as that it’s holiday time for the Indonesians the traffick in that area has been grid locked from morning till late at night with a huge influx of domestic tourists. Ok that’s about all there is for ya’s at the moment. But I did manage to load ya’s up 60 new photos from out and about in Bali and you’ll find those in the KUTA CAM GALLERY. Plus Ray from the Kandui Surf Resort up in the MENTAWAI ISLANDS has sent us through some more surf reports along with new photos for ya’s to drool at. Tomorrow I’m gunna be taking a sickie and taking my wife up to her parent’s house in the mountain region of North East Bali, but I’ll be back in time for the afternoon up-date on Wednesday. Take care and we hope to see ya’s all over here in Bali sooner or later.
