**** Good morning compadre’s and welcome back to the baliwaves.com surf and weather report . Sorry about only loading the photos and no text report yesterday, but by the time I got back from visiting the in-laws way up North I didn’t have the energy left to type. Anyway as ya’s can see in the photos (thanks to Scotty Thompson) the Racetrack section down at Uluwatu was looking like tube city again. Plus one of the boys staying with us here at Home Base reckoned Middle Reef was breaking nicely in the 2-4ft range as well. Ok then, this morning my 6.30am surf recon of the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was still showing 2-3ft+ waves breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left . The tide was running out for 0.6mtr Low set for around 9.00am. And seeing as though we are just about right in the middle of the Moon Phase the next High tide is only gunna be peaking at 1.5mtrs around 3.00pm this afternoon. Bugger all wind out there at the time so surfing conditions were super clean and glass like. Kuta Reef and Airports were only breaking in the 1-2ft range and with the tide running out will have to wait for the tide to turn before they improve . Middle Reef was peeling off shoulder to head high plus waves and looking pretty good for a paddle, 3 surfers already out there having some fun. MR being better suited to these mid range tide levels. Scott sms’d through from Uluwatu that wave height was breaking in the 2-3ft range down along the Racetrack and that there was only 4 surfers in the water at 7.00am. Scott should be back to Home Base around lunch time so we’ll have some new photos to show ya’s then. Plus I’ve got some video footage to have a look through and see if I can cut ya’s up a new video clip or two. Weather wise there’s some cloud still hanging around but at this time of the year we can pretty well count on hot and humid conditions by midday. That’s about us for now but tune in through out the day for more eye candy. Now on a serious note; I’m stoked that our Scholarship for underprivileged Balinese kids has done so well, THANKS BIG TIME to all the big hearted people who have got behind us and helped out. Now I’ve got a new program that I’d like to kick off. One that we can control and keep constant progress up-dates on. I’m talking about kinda adopting a school up in one of the area’s of Bali where there’s no cash flow from tourism and hardly any from anything else for that matter. The kids don’t have to pay school fees, because their Mum and Dad’s don’t have any money to pay. Half, or more of the kids that attend don’t even have shoes to wear to school and walk up to 4km’s bare footed to get there. Now in my opinion this is a worthy project for us to think about. What I’d like to start off with is trying to raise enough cash to get electricity hooked up to the school, with electricity we can then look at a lot of other basic stuff, like a water pump etc etc etc. Over the next few days I’m going to try and set up a page with more information on this project. But please if anyone would like to help me out with this noble cause don’t hesitate to send me an email via the “CONTACT” link at the bottom of this page, thanks. Have a good one what ever you’ve got happening out there and stay tuned to the one and only Original Bali Surf and Weather website.
