**** MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** Good morning surfers and thanks for dropping in for the baliwaves.com SUNDAY SESSION . Well we’ve got a total turn around today, compared to yesterday anyway. This morning when I went down for the 6.00am surf check of the Outer Reefs here in Tuban there was no sign of any rain clouds just blue sky. Wave height was still hanging in there at 2-3ft between Kuta Reef and Airports , while the tide was just hitting the top of a 1.7mtr High . Wind direction was already blowing straight off-shore between Legian and Uluwatu, coming outta the ESE-SE @ 6-9knot . Kuta Reef was peeling off small and perfect shaped little waist high waves but no one out there at the time. Middle Reef was breaking in the waist to shoulder high plus range and as the tide runs out for it’s 0.8mtr Low tide around midday will be the better option for a surf on the Outer Reefs. Airport Left also had a few waist to shoulder high waves coming through on the morning High. No surfers were in the water, maybe because it is Sunday morning and the clubs woulda been pumping as well last night. Scott Thompson has already sent me through a sms from down at Uluwatu and reckons there was around 30 surfers already in the water between the Main Peak and Racetrack sections. Wave height was a respectable shoulder to head high plus and that the Racetrack was shaping up for some good tube rides as the tide runs out around mid morning. So Scott should have some more photos of the action at Ulu for us later this afternoon. I’d have to imagine that you’d also be able to take ya pick of perfect little waves up along the numerous beach breaks in the Kuta to Legian stretch of sand this morning. Weather wise , like I said it’s a totally different day compared to yesterday with blue sky, sun shine and off-shore wind. Ok hang in there for Scott to deliver the goods from Uluwatu and in the mean time ya can start checking out some the photos I’m about to start loading into the OCTOBER SURF GALLERY .
Now on a serious note ; I’m stoked that our Scholarship Program for underprivileged Balinese kids has done so well, THANKS BIG TIME to all the big hearted people who have got behind us and helped out. Now I’ve got a new program that I’d like to kick off. One that we can control and keep constant progress up-dates on. I’m talking about kinda adopting a school up in one of the area’s of Bali where there’s no cash flow from tourism and hardly any from anything else for that matter. The kids don’t have to pay school fees, because their Mum and Dad’s don’t have any money to pay. Half, or more of the kids that attend don’t even have shoes to wear to school and walk up to 4km’s bare footed to get there. Now in my opinion this is a worthy project for us to think about. What I’d like to start off with is trying to raise enough cash to get electricity hooked up to the school, with electricity we can then look at a lot of other basic stuff, like a water pump etc etc etc. Over the next few days I’m going to try and set up a page with more information on this project. But please if anyone would like to help me out with this noble cause don’t hesitate to send me an email via the “CONTACT” link at the bottom of this page, thanks.
