**** MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** Good morning crew and thanks for stopping by for the baliwaves.com daily surf and weather report . Everything was back on track this morning so I was able to be down on the beach for the surf recon at 6.30am . The tide was sitting on the 0.3 of a metre mark and just about to start running up for a 2.1mtr High around 11.00am. At this point in time we have the bigger high tides happening through the night, peaking around the 2.5mtr mark. There wasn’t much wind when I first got down on the beach but has since started to come up outta the WNW @ 1-3knot . Even so surfing conditions on the Outer Reefs were still clean and smooth. Wave height has dropped off slightly but still respectable at 2-3ft+ between Kuta Reef and Airports .
The tide was way too low for Kuta Reef and Airports but when the tide fills in towards mid morning there should be some nice little waves breaking on both reefs in the waist to shoulder high plus range. Middle Reef was looking very surfable on the lower end of the tide and was picking up way more size than KR and AL . Still no surfers in the water on any sections but by now (8.00am) there should be a few takers in the water. These current photos on site were taken by Scott Thompson up at Canggu yesterday and Scott reckons there was a full cast of both local and International shredders in the line-up. Scott’s having a break today but we’ve got Dewa Made already in transit up to Keramas with his video camera to check on the local grommets that will be up there warming up for tomorrow’s Grom Search contest at Keramas. So I’ll have some fresh video clips for ya’s to look at later this evening.
Weather wise out there today, it’s an absolutely perfect day for surfing and swimming down at the beach. Nothing but blue sky above us this morning. Temperature wise the mercury will be back up there in the low to mid 30’s on the Celsius scale and the water temperature is still hanging around 23-24 degree’s Celsius. Now on a serious note ; I’m stoked that our Scholarship Program for underprivileged Balinese kids has done so well, THANKS BIG TIME to all the big hearted people who have got behind us and helped out. Now I’ve got a new program that I’d like to kick off. One that we can control and keep constant progress up-dates on. I’m talking about kinda adopting a school up in one of the area’s of Bali where there’s no cash flow from tourism and hardly any from anything else for that matter. The kids don’t have to pay school fees, because their Mum and Dad’s don’t have any money to pay. Half, or more of the kids that attend don’t even have shoes to wear to school and walk up to 4km’s bare footed or in rubber thongs just to be there. Now in my opinion this is a worthy project for us to think about. What I’d like to start off with is trying to raise enough cash to get electricity hooked up to the school, with electricity we can then look at a lot of other basic stuff, like a water pump etc etc etc. Over the next few days I’m going to try and set up a page with more information on this project. But please if anyone would like to help me out with this noble cause don’t hesitate to send me an email via the “CONTACT” link at the bottom of this page, thanks.
Special Thanks to, Bryan & Trish Ryder, Rosemary Ryan, Team Panadol, Karina Pols, Ron Samuel, Gordon Black, Jesper Stockholm, Nick, The Ando Family, The Pluss Family and more, for already offering support ! So come on folks we only need 30-40 of us to chip in and we can get a school hooked up with something we all pretty much take for granted, electricity. Our target needed is Rp10,000,000. that’s around AU$1,250.
Now if only these kind folk can forward their donations we can start to make this thing really happen. Thanks friends .
