**** AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE **** Howdy folks and thanks for dropping in for the baliwaves.com SUNDAY SESSION . First off, these current images are fram grabs from the video footage Dewa Made shot up at Keramas on Bali’s East Coast yesterday before the wind swung back to the ESE-SE. I’ve also manages to edit up 3 pretty good new video clips from the same footage and will start loading them up for ya’s now.
This morning when I made it down for the surf check of the Outer Reefs here in Tuban the tide was just coming off the bottom of a reef exposing 0.1mtr Low and starting to fill back in with a 2.0mtr High set for around midday. The wind direction was coming pretty well straight off-shore outta the E-ESE @ 2-4knot . Wave height had droped of a foot or two but there were still a few waves breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left , with the sets still reaching head high (3ft).To Low for Kuta Reef and Airports but Middle Reef had a few takers out there and it did look like fun. The best waves today woulda been had down at Uluwatu or ya coulda even scored some good ones along the numerous beach breaks along the Kuta to legian stretch. Canggu coulda also been worth a paddle around mid morning.
Weather wise we had a few drops of rain earlier and then it cleared up for a burst of high humidity and heat around lunch time. Right now at 2.00pm there appears to be some more cloud cover moving back in. Temperature wise outside at the moment it would have to be at least 30 degree’s.
Now on a serious note ; I’m stoked that our Scholarship Program for underprivileged Balinese kids has done so well, THANKS BIG TIME to all the big hearted people who have got behind us and helped out. Now I’ve got a new program that I’d like to kick off. One that we can control and keep constant progress up-dates on. I’m talking about kinda adopting a school up in one of the area’s of Bali where there’s no cash flow from tourism and hardly any from anything else for that matter. The kids don’t have to pay school fees, because their Mum and Dad’s don’t have any money to pay. Half, or more of the kids that attend don’t even have shoes to wear to school and walk up to 4km’s bare footed or in rubber thongs just to be there. Now in my opinion this is a worthy project for us to think about. What I’d like to start off with is trying to raise enough cash to get electricity hooked up to the school, with electricity we can then look at a lot of other basic stuff, like a water pump etc etc etc. Over the next few days I’m going to try and set up a page with more information on this project.
