Bali Surf Report – October 3 2007

MIDDAY SURF UP-DATE **** Hello surfers and thanks for tuning in for the run down on the waves and weather happening here in Bali today . I took my first look at surfing conditions on the Outer Reefs of Tuban around 6.30am this morning to see wave height breaking in the 2-4ft range between Kuta Reef and Airports .The tide was too low for Kuta Reef or Airports but there was still 1-3 footers breaking on both reefs. Middle’s was looking ok breaking in the 2-4ft range and there was a couple of surfers already out there having fun. At that time of the morning there was still no wind present so surfing conditions were clean and glassy. The Low tide bottomed out at 0.4mtrs around 8.00am and by that time I was well and truelly on my way down to Uluwatu to see what was happening on the Racetrack section. When I arrived there was still only a dozen surfers in the water. Wave height was hitting the Track in the 3-4 foot range producing some perfect tube rides . As ya’s can see in these latest photos to come outta Bali . I hung around until just after lunch and by that time the tide was running in hard for 1.7mtr High for around 2.00pm. Crowd levels had also taken a major jump and boosted into the 60+ range, spread out from the Main Peak and down through the Racetrack section. Coming home past Padang Padang and Impossible’s there were a couple of 1-2 footers breaking at Padang Padang and I did see a crew of boogers out there on the way to Uluwatu in the morning. Impossible’s had some long lines bending down the reef towards Bingin breaking in the waist to head high range. Dewa made was also on the scene at Uluwatu with me shooting ya’s some fresh video footage from down at water level. Dewa also checked out Bingin first thing in the morning but reckoned there wasn’t enough swell getting in there, only breaking in the waist to waist high plus range. Weather wise today there was some solid cloud cover over us for starters, but that cleared away leaving nothing but blue sky from around 11.00am. The wind eventually did come up around 9.30-10.00am coming outta the SSE-S @ 3-7knot . Ok crew that’s about it for today and I’ll try and get the new video footage loaded up for ya’s later this evening.
