Bali Surf Report – October 4 2007

AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE **** Howdy folks time for another look at what’s been happening surf and weather wise along the good old South Western end of Bali today. I took my first gander at the waves on the Outer Reefs around 6.30am , to find wave height had dropped back into the 1-2ft+ range between Kuta Reef and Airports . The tide was running out for a 0.6mtr Low due at 9.00am. It was still a bit shallow for Kuta or Airports but Middle Reef did have a few waist to head high waves peeling off. There was no wind present at the time so of-course surfing conditions were clean and glassy , and no surfers in sight. But I was heading for Uluwatu to catch the tail end of this swell. I turned into the parking lot at Uluwatu around 7.45am to see wave height was also only in that waist to shoulder high plus range along the Racetrack section. But after the tide bottomed out and started it’s run back in there was a bit of a boost in wave height and things started getting better. There ended up being nice little tube rides going down and there was only half the numbe of surfers in the water as yesterday. When the wind finally kicked in around 8.30am it was coming clean off-shore outta the E-ESE @ 4-7knot through until 11.00am then swinging more to the SSE. Anyway these photos I’ve loaded up from today should give ya the picture of how it was. Plus there will be another NEW VIDEO CLIP ( in another hour or so ) from yesterdays action to check out. Weather wise , it was another cloudy morning before clearing up to be just another perfect beach type day. I’ve also got some new photos for the Bodyboarder crew , and I’ll get those up ASAP. I’m also pretty sure we should see a another new swell on the reefs anytime in the next 36-48hrs or so.
