Bali Surf Report – October 6 2007

**** Hello reef riders and beach lovers and it’s time for the run down on what we’ve got happening surf and weather wise in Bali today . I’ve just got back from sussing out surfing conditions on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban. The time has just gone 7.30am and wave height is still only just hanging in there in the 1-2ft+ range between Kuta Reef and Airports . The tide was just starting to run out, heading for a 0.8mtr Low around 11.30am with no wind present at 6.30am . But since then there is a light on-shore Westerly breeze that’s just started at 1-2knot. Surfing conditions were clean and glassy at the time I was on the beach. Kuta Reef already had a few dawn patrollers in the line up catching waves in the knee to waist high plus range. I did see a couple of sets roll through on Middle Reef that woulda been pretty close to being in the head high sector. And Airport Left was breaking in the 1-2ft range. Just as I was leaving the scene I spotted 3-4 fully loaded reef taxi’s making there way out to Middle’s and Kuta Reef. For anyone looking for a bit more size and power in their waves Uluwatu would probably be the best bet for a look. But you would have to expect not to be the only one there. Our photographic friend Scott Thompson was down there yesterday and that’s where these latest photos have come from. Weather wise this morning there’s loads of blue sky to smile on every one’s face. Temperature wise it’ll be another hot one along the beach and the mercury will easily bust through into the 30’s on the Celsius scale. The water temperature is perfect at 24 degree’s Celsius. Now here’s a bit of an idea how Bali give’s you good value for your holiday dollar. The other day when I was out and about. I filled up my motor cycle petrol tank to the brim from empty, I bought lunch, two coke’s and a bottle of water then bought 3 new release DVD’s for a total of Rp50,000. Which works out to be around AU$6.50, try comparing that where you live. Yep Bali is pretty hard to beat alround for a surfing holiday . Try finding an air conditioned room for rent anywhere for only AU$13.00 a night. Ok crew have a good one out there and hopefully we’ll be seeing ya’s here in Bali sometime in the near future.
