**** MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** Howdy friends and thanks for stopping by the baliwaves for the run down on whats not happening surf wise today. Firstly sorry about only loading new photos and no surf indo yesterday but seeing as though the waves were pretty minute I thought what the hell. I was out trolling for some big game and I can tell ya’s that at 9.00am there was only 4 surfers in the water at Uluwatu . That’s gotta give ya some sort of an idea. This morning there’s not a lot of diference either. I went down for a 6.00am surf check of the Outer Reefs and wave height between Kuta Reef and Airports was lucky to be breaking at knee high on the sets. The tide was still running out for a 0.5mtr Low and should be bottoming out around 9.00am. The wind was blowing lightly outta the ENE @ 1knot . Maybe later when the tide starts to push back in ya might be lucky and find some shoulder high plus waves down at Uluwatu, if you were keen enough. And the beach breaks between Kuta and Legian should be good for some waist high action around early afternoon.
Weather wise there was some lightning going off down to the south of here early but no rain fell in this part of bali over night. Right now at 7.30am the sky is starting to cloud over and to me, it’s even got that smell of rain in the air. But that’ll soon change and ya could bet ya last dollar that it will be back to hot and hotter conditions by midday.
Ok so there’s not a lot going on surfwise, but that fit’s in with my plans to start answering my back log of email. And to take care of the usual domestic stuff that we all gotta take care of, paying bills. But don’t worry cause as soon as there are some waves (and it usually isn’t much of a wait here in Bali ) we’ll have ya’s covered.
Now on a serious note ; I’m stoked that our Scholarship Program for underprivileged Balinese kids has done so well, THANKS BIG TIME to all the big hearted people who have got behind us and helped out. Now I’ve got a new program that I’d like to kick off. One that we can control and keep constant progress up-dates on. I’m talking about kinda adopting a school up in one of the area’s of Bali where there’s no cash flow from tourism and hardly any from anything else for that matter. The kids don’t have to pay school fees, because their Mum and Dad’s don’t have any money to pay. Half, or more of the kids that attend don’t even have shoes to wear to school and walk up to 4km’s bare footed or in rubber thongs just to be there. Now in my opinion this is a worthy project for us to think about. What I’d like to start off with is trying to raise enough cash to get electricity hooked up to the school, with electricity we can then look at a lot of other basic stuff, like a water pump etc etc etc. Over the next few days I’m going to try and set up a page with more information on this project. But please if anyone would like to help me out with this noble cause don’t hesitate to send me an email via the “CONTACT” link at the bottom of this page, thanks.
Special Thanks to, Bryan & Trish Ryder, Rosemary Ryan, Team Panadol, Karina Pols, Ron Samuel, Gordon Black, Jesper Stockholm, Nick, The Ando Family, The Pluss Family, Glenny Farrow, Mervyn Lee for already offering support ! So come on folks we only need 30-40 of us to chip in and we can get a school hooked up with something we all pretty much take for granted, electricity. Our target needed is Rp10,000,000. that’s around AU$1,250.
Now if only these kind folk can forward their donations we can start to make this thing really happen. Thanks friends .
