**** MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** Hi crew and thanks for stopping in for the run down on todays surf and weather conditions here in Bali . Well there’s not much change at all today. The waves are still only in the 1-2ft range on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban. But the wind is much stronger and fully on-shore, coming outta the WSW @ 5-10knot+. So once again Bali ’s West Coast is trashed surf wise and the best place to find a wave will be over on the East Coast between Green Balls and Keramas . But I wouldn’t imagine you finding anything much bigger than head high at best. The tide was just coming off the top of 1.6mtr High when I was on the scene at 6.00am and will be bottoming out at 0.7mtrs around midday. Just to be on the safe side I’m gunna get Dewa Made to head over to Serangan and Nusa Dua on the East Coast with the video camera and try and get ya’s some footage to look at. Slim and the crew from here at Home Base will be shipping out to a different island first thing tomorrow morning and hopefully I’ll find some access to the internet where we are heading so I can give ya’s some live up-dates on what we find. So stay tuned for our next off-island experience .
Weather wise today there’s still been no sign of any rain and this morning it dawned with a clear blue sky. At least this strong on-shore wind we are stuck with today should help to keep the temperature tolerable.
Changing dollars to Rupiah on the streets of Kuta you’ll find that; — 1AU$=Rp8,200 – 1US$=Rp9,175 –
Ok our first objective of aquiring the funds to hook up electricity to the school is done . So a huge pat on the back to all of you that have already contributed or in the process of !!! But there’s still a bit more we can do for the school so if you are interested take a look at the Info page on the school project over on the menue bar.
I’m stoked that our Scholarship Program for underprivileged Balinese kids has done so well, THANKS BIG TIME to all the big hearted people who have got behind us and helped out. Now I’ve got a new program that I’d like to kick off. One that we can control and keep constant progress up-dates on. I’m talking about kinda adopting a school up in one of the area’s of Bali where there’s no cash flow from tourism and hardly any from anything else for that matter. The kids don’t have to pay school fees, because their Mum and Dad’s don’t have any money to pay. Half, or more of the kids that attend don’t even have shoes to wear to school and walk up to 4km’s bare footed or in rubber thongs just to be there. Now in my opinion this is a worthy project for us to think about. What I’d like to start off with is trying to raise enough cash to get electricity hooked up to the school, with electricity we can then look at a lot of other basic stuff, like a water pump etc etc etc.
Have a good one what ever you’ve got happening out there and stay tuned to the one and only Original Bali Surf and Weather website .
