**** MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** Hello again friends and lovers of Bali and thanks for stopping bye for the rundown on todays surf and weather conditions . I made my first surf check of the Outer Reefs here in Tuban at 6.15am . Wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport Left was still hanging in there at 2-3ft+. Wind direction was coming outta the WNW @ 5-8knot and cross/on-shore along Bali’s West Coast . The tide was on the bottom of a pretty dry 0.1mtr Low and will be running back in for a 1.8mtr High just after midday. Kuta Reef was breaking in the 1-2ft+ range and there might even be a few little fun waves out there around mid to late morning, there was yesterday. Middle Reef wasn’t looking too bad, just one bad. Being best suited to the lower end of the tide Middle’s was peeling off waves in the head to head high plus range. Airport Left was also showing a bit of promise for a few waves when the tide fills back in at 2-3ft. Scott made the run down to check out whats happening down on the Southern end of the island at Bingin and Uluwatu . But shortly after he sms’d back to me that there wasn’t anything happening at either location, due to the on-shore wind. So he’s gunna take a blow and then head back over to the East Coast after lunch and shoot a few more photos for us. Scott took these current images on baliwaves over at Serangan yesterday afternoon. Weather wise it’s just the same as it usually always is, blue sky and shaping up for another hot, humid and sunny type day here in Bali .
I’m stoked that our Scholarship Program for underprivileged Balinese kids has done so well, THANKS BIG TIME to all the big hearted people who have got behind us and helped out. Now I’ve got a new program that I’d like to kick off. One that we can control and keep constant progress up-dates on. I’m talking about kinda adopting a school up in one of the area’s of Bali where there’s no cash flow from tourism and hardly any from anything else for that matter. The kids don’t have to pay school fees, because their Mum and Dad’s don’t have any money to pay. Half, or more of the kids that attend don’t even have shoes to wear to school and walk up to 4km’s bare footed or in rubber thongs just to be there. Now in my opinion this is a worthy project for us to think about. What I’d like to start off with is trying to raise enough cash to get electricity hooked up to the school, with electricity we can then look at a lot of other basic stuff, like a water pump etc etc etc.
Ok our first objective of aquiring the funds to hook up electricity to the school is done . So a huge pat on the back to all of you that have already contributed or in the process of !!! But there’s still a bit more we can do for the school so if you are interested take a look at the Info page on the school project over on the menue bar.
