**** MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** Good morning surfers and welcome back to the baliwaves.com daily surf and weather report . Well just outta habit I was back down on the beach at 6.00am this morning and I’m sorry to say that wave height is even smaller than what it was yesterday. The only waves your get in Bali today will be off the friendly Balinese locals. Actual wave height between Kuta Reef and Airports was lapping onto the reef at 6-12 inches on the set waves. The tide was still running down for a 0.7mtr low that will bottom out around 10.00am and then is gunna be filling back in for a 1.5mtr High towards the 4.00pm mark. Wind direction was coming straight outta the North at 2-4knot but I’m thinking it will be swinging back around the ESE-SE by midday.
Weather wise outside today there was no rain through the night but this morning we do have a cloud filled sky and there could be the odd drop of rain falling somewhere on the island today. Temperature wise around Kuta / Tuban we can still expect another hot and humid beach day. Just a pity there’s no waves. But the water temperature is a perfect 23-24 degree’s Celsius.
I’d also like to say thanks all the considerate surfers & families that have locked in to our commitment to help a school get hooked up with electricity . We have almost reached our goal, that is if everyone who has pledged makes it through. So hopefully by early next week I’ll be taking a fat wad of Rupiah up to hand over to the school committee !!! I’ll also be making a point of making a new page on baliwaves.com today so we can document the progress up at the “ Datah Primary School ” Thanks again for everyone’s patience and support ! For any new viewers to the baliwaves the paragraph below is a bit of a rundown on our school project.
Now on a serious note ; I’m stoked that our Scholarship Program for underprivileged Balinese kids has done so well, THANKS BIG TIME to all the big hearted people who have got behind us and helped out. Now I’ve got a new program that I’d like to kick off. One that we can control and keep constant progress up-dates on. I’m talking about kinda adopting a school up in one of the area’s of Bali where there’s no cash flow from tourism and hardly any from anything else for that matter. The kids don’t have to pay school fees, because their Mum and Dad’s don’t have any money to pay. Half, or more of the kids that attend don’t even have shoes to wear to school and walk up to 4km’s bare footed or in rubber thongs just to be there. Now in my opinion this is a worthy project for us to think about. What I’d like to start off with is trying to raise enough cash to get electricity hooked up to the school, with electricity we can then look at a lot of other basic stuff, like a water pump etc etc etc. Over the next few days I’m going to try and set up a page with more information on this project.
