**** MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** Hello crew and thanks for tuning in for the baliwaves.com SUNDAY SESSION . Well even though I knew there wouldn’t be any change in wave height today I still went down to the beach to confirm it. Wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport Left is still only just breaking in the 1-1ft+ range on the bigger sets. The only difference today is that the wind was coming outta the West @ 2-3knot and on-shore between Medewi and Uluwatu. The next tide is going to be a 0.7mtr Low @ 11.00am and that’s not going to help the situation either. A few of the surfers staying with us here at Home Base set off at dawn heading for Uluwatu to see if they could find a few waves. So I’ll find out later on when they get back if it’s gunna be worth a photographic mission down there tomorrow . Scott sent me a sms from up at Canggu and said that wave height up there (north from Seminyak) and said that wave height was also only just breaking in the knee to waist high range on the bigger sets.
Weather wise it’s been cloudy and grey right from the start and a big chance of seeing a few drops of rain fall by this evening. Right now at 10.30am the outside temperature would be sitting around the 25-27 degree Celsius mark.
I’d also like to say thanks all the considerate surfers & families that have locked in to our commitment to help a school get hooked up with electricity . We have almost reached our goal, that is if everyone who has pledged makes it through. So hopefully by early next week I’ll be taking a fat wad of Rupiah up to hand over to the school committee !!! I’ll also be making a point of making a new page on baliwaves.com today so we can document the progress up at the “ Datah Primary School ” Thanks again for everyone’s patience and support ! For any new viewers to the baliwaves the paragraph below is a bit of a rundown on our school project.
I’m stoked that our Scholarship Program for underprivileged Balinese kids has done so well, THANKS BIG TIME to all the big hearted people who have got behind us and helped out. Now I’ve got a new program that I’d like to kick off. One that we can control and keep constant progress up-dates on. I’m talking about kinda adopting a school up in one of the area’s of Bali where there’s no cash flow from tourism and hardly any from anything else for that matter. The kids don’t have to pay school fees, because their Mum and Dad’s don’t have any money to pay. Half, or more of the kids that attend don’t even have shoes to wear to school and walk up to 4km’s bare footed or in rubber thongs just to be there. Now in my opinion this is a worthy project for us to think about. What I’d like to start off with is trying to raise enough cash to get electricity hooked up to the school, with electricity we can then look at a lot of other basic stuff, like a water pump etc etc etc. Over the next few days I’m going to try and set up a page with more information on this project. But please if anyone would like to help me out with this noble cause don’t hesitate to send me an email via the “CONTACT” link at the bottom of this page, thanks..
Have a good one what ever you’ve got happening out there and stay tuned to the one and only Original Bali Surf and Weather website.
