****AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE**** Hello surfers and thanks for tuning in to see whats happening surf and weather wise here on the 7/7 baliwaves.com . Well we took our first look at the Outer Reefs here in Tuban (my swell indicator) at 6.00am. To see yesterdays swell all but gone. Wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport Left was only just breaking in the knee to waist high plus range. The wind was already light on-shore outta the WNW and the tide still falling for a 0.6mrtr Low set for around 10.30am.
Just on the off-chance there was still some action happening down at Uluwatu I got Dewa made to take the video cam down there and check it out. About 45 minutes later he sms’d me back to say that it was on-shore and too small. So I said then go take a look at Serangan over on the East Coast . He reckons wave height at Serangan was pushing shoulder high but with a crowd fact of over 100 surfers and 90% Japanese. With the swell still more South than anything else there’s always a good chance of finding a bit more size on the Eastern side of the island. So there were probably a few ok little waves being surfed at Nusa Dua, Green Balls and maybe even a few sly ones breaking up at Keramas . I haven’t had time to suss out the swell prediction charts but I will be as soon as I get this on line and will comment on that situation tomorrow.
Weather wise there’s been a fair bit of cloud moving over us all day here on the West Coast and we did get a few drops around midday. Even so it’s been pretty hot and humid with the temperature in the low 30’s on the Celsius scale.

I’m stoked that our Scholarship Program for underprivileged Balinese kids has done so well, THANKS BIG TIME to all the big hearted people who have got behind us and helped out. Now I’ve got a new program that I’d like to kick off. One that we can control and keep constant progress up-dates on. I’m talking about kinda adopting a school up in one of the area’s of Bali where there’s no cash flow from tourism and hardly any from anything else for that matter. The kids don’t have to pay school fees, because their Mum and Dad’s don’t have any money to pay. Half, or more of the kids that attend don’t even have shoes to wear to school and walk up to 4km’s bare footed or in rubber thongs just to be there. Now in my opinion this is a worthy project for us to think about. What I’d like to start off with is trying to raise enough cash to get electricity hooked up to the school, with electricity we can then look at a lot of other basic stuff, like a water pump etc etc etc.
Ok our first objective of aquiring the funds to hook up electricity to the school is done . So a huge pat on the back to all of you that have already contributed or in the process of !!! But there’s still a bit more we can do for the school so if you are interested take a look at the Info page on the school project over on the menue bar.
We have also secured our goal of providing 100 English / Indonesian dictionaries . So I’ll be heading back up to the school to hand them over and to get ya’s another progress report on how we are doing. So keep an eye on the School Project page .
Have a good one what ever you’ve got happening out there and stay tuned to the one and only Original Bali Surf and Weather website .
